Today, we’d like to introduce you to Burunda Prince. Burunda was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Zebadiah Henry.
Hi Burunda , we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
Originally from Atlanta, I have a Chemical Engineering degree from MIT and a MBA from Harvard Business School. My career has spanned several decades of corporate America, entrepreneurship and social impact organizations. Always, my focus has been on using my problem solving abilities to innovate, create, and build. My experiences include research and development, management consulting, educational leadership and now, wealth building in the black community through entrepreneurship. Prior to The Russell Center, I launched and led ComcastNBC Universal’s first tech accelerator, The Farm, based in Atlanta. Harvard wrote a case study about that experience.
I’m convinced that my exposure, experiences and talents are to be leveraged to help others become better and achieve their life goals. So, everyday, I enjoy the challenge of amplifying impact, writing the narrative of building the organization that is The Russell Center of Innovation and supporting and celebrating the sheroes and heroes of black entrepreneurs.
Please tell us more about your brand, RUSSELL INNOVATION CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURS
The Russell Center is unapologetically and hyper-focused on generational wealth building for the black community through entrepreneurship. We are Business Generator. Accelerator. Innovation Lab. RICE is an economic mobility engine for the community: driving entrepreneurs and small business owners to innovate, grow, create jobs, and build wealth. We house over 50,000 square feet of convening, meeting, and innovation space in a LEED Silver Certified building, brought to life by a robust offering of educational, networking, mentoring, and capital resources. Part business generator, innovation lab, and museum, RICE invests in Black entrepreneurs, strengthens businesses, and creates community. We are trailblazing and creating the blueprint for successful black entrepreneurs. With Atlanta as our beachhead, our thought leadership supported by data driven insights can provide the platform for black entrepreneurship globally. I am most proud of organizational impact — supporting 350 black entrepreneurs, building a talented team, and leveraging partnerships that bring access and resources to black founders.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Zebadiah Henry and INEX SYSTEMS AND DESIGNS,INC and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with INEX SYSTEMS AND DESIGNS,INC.
As the CEO of INEX Systems, Zebadiah has demonstrated the ability to lead a team, add value and be responsive to customer needs. When I think of INEX, the phrase customer delight comes to mind. Zebadiah has instilled the importance of going beyond satisfaction to delight by anticipating needs, working to quickly resolve issues and becoming a de facto part of The Russell Center.
INEX Systems not only supports our Staff with audiovisual and IT needs, they also help design networks and systems based on an understanding of RICE’s vision. His team is always professional, competent and attentive. Work performed is both timely and cost efficient. We often request their recommendation for technology related purchases and systems because INEX has earned our trust and demonstrated their commitment to excellence. From the routine to the cutting edge, INEX always works to ensure that we are delighted with the result.
An example of Zebadiah’s ability to work with The Russell Center is his security assessment to install equipment and cameras throughout the building and parking lot. We can remotely monitor our 155,000 square foot property to maintain the safety of people and property. INEX’s installation of screens and high resolution monitors of various sizes has contributed to The Russell Center’s ability to bring state of the art technology to conference, meeting and event spaces. This technology has made The Russell Center one of the premier innovative hubs in Atlanta. Last year, more than 80,000 people benefited from and marveled at INEX’s handiwork.
I highly recommend INEX because they are a value driven organization that consistently delivers outstanding results!
