Meet T.J. Taylor of C4 Sports in Columbus

Today we’d like to introduce you to T.J. Taylor.

Thanks for sharing your story with us T.J. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was introduced to sports at the age of four and fell in love instantly. My favorite sport instantly became football, I love all sports but football takes me to another place. I also ran track and played baseball growing up, playing baseball I was blessed with a coach that changed my life forever Coach Scott Wonders. He was more than a coach he was a hero and a father figure. I played college football at Columbus State University and during that time I suffered an injury that would end up changing everything. My right ankle snapped on both sides and required reconstructive surgery. I ended up hanging up my cleats on the football side after that and I met Jerome Bryant and began my sports media journey with Double Coverage. After a year with Double Coverage I branched out and started C4 Sports. Without the support of Sheldon Whitfield, Anthony Kennebrew, Dareion Hill, Jakobe Murray, Brian Gaines & Quantavias Allen C4 Sports wouldn’t be where it is today.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been a very interesting one with a lot twist and turns. Having ankle surgery three times within a year span really put me in a dark place and lead to depression. Coach Carlton Spivey pulled me out of that dark place and told me “Hard Times Can Make Or Break You And I Refuse To Let You Be Broken”. He pulled me out of the house and we hit the ground running. I was attending meetings and games in walking boot and with the IV system in my arm. Anthony Kennebrew would consistently send me scriptures to help keep me uplifted. The biggest struggle was pulling myself out of a funk and fear of the unknown.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with C4 Sports – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
C4 specializes in helping players gain exposure by promoting them to coaches, scouts and sending them to camps. We connect with college coaches, recruits and other media companies to assist parents and players during the process of going next level. We’re known for our photos, highlight tapes and game recaps that can be found on our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages. What makes me proud with my company is knowing that we leaving a lasting impact on players and parents, helping change their lives and helping them get to the next level. I believe what sets us apart is our drive, determination and our grind.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future plans for C4 is to be mentioned in conversations with Rivals & 247 Sports and hosting some of the biggest events in the entire south. I’m looking forward to collaborating with Icon Sports, Double Coverage and Elite Raw Talent in the future. Planning for a great year even with COVID causing restrictions on attendance for games. I plan to continue working hard with my guys: Tre Thomas (Justin Heartman), Jakobe Murray, Terry Brown Jr, Anthony Kennebrew, Brian Gaines & Jailen Jelks.
