Today we’d like to introduce you to Cairo Williams.
Cairo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up as a shy bare-foot walking teenager from a small town called Fort Valley Georgia. With the encouragement of a friend, I entered a local modeling competition. I placed first in all categories. Unbelievable for someone who had very little training in the modeling field. I was offered several modeling contracts located in different states and countries. I chose to relocate to New York City with a reputable modeling agency.
My first six months in New York were difficult. I did not book jobs because I was camera shy and moved stiffly. I could not give the photographers or clients what they needed. Out of necessity, I created Cairo’s Clock And Flow™, A SYSTEMATIC approach to achieving perfect photographic angles and a signature walk!
That was over 10 years ago. I split my time as a full time working Model and Model Instructor. I am a current face of Tokyo Fashion Express Japan thanks to NHK WORLD TV JAPAN. It is an honor to be the first woman of color featured in Japan. I’ve graced the catwalks of Calvin Klein, face if Maybelline, and also became a YBLimited Brand Ambassador.
There is much in store for my career and the clients of Cairo’s Clock And Flow™. Many attend my courses in hopes they nail the perfect pic and runway walk. Clock And Flow™ clients don’t wing it! They BRING IT! Keep your eyes out for me and my clients!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. I grew up in poverty. I faced traumatic experiences a little girl should never encounter. As a coping mechanism, I became extremely shy. A not so thoughtful teacher presented me with the Mouse Award in front of my entire school. Yikes!
I have quit the fashion industry several times in my long career however these past two years were not easy to break back in the fashion industry. The modeling world has changed significantly with the use of social media. I have had to learn how to navigate and to stay strong in this “exposure payment system”. It’s a challenge, however, I know my worth. Surrounding myself with a knowledgeable team has been essential.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cairo’s Clock And Flow story. Tell us more about the business.
Cairo’s Clock And Flow™ (CCF) is a systematic approach to achieving perfect photographic angles and a signature walk. I infuse dance into the runway classes. There are subtle similarities in the dance moves and the core mechanics of the industry standard runway walk. The Clock And Flow™ method allows individuals to take away their “signature” walk.
Clock And Flow™ is not just for models or just for females. It’s an inclusive business which helps anyone who wants to take the perfect picture and walk their best walk.
I am the most proud of that Cairo’s Clock And Flow™ is a system that initiates self-love. The method has a way of empowering those in ways they have never imagined. This is what sets CCF apart from other companies.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am not sure if luck has played a role in my life and business. I believe my own actions and the help of others have been the role players in my journey.
