Meet Caleb Wallace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Wallace.

Caleb, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always felt a need to give back to the world. Though I never knew how I was going to be able to do that. More so in a way of thanking it for life and what life has to provide for me. At the age of 18, I realized I wanted to become an artist (visual), and to do so you have to do so. Meaning creates whatever you want to; it doesn’t matter what it is just as long as you do it. Because of that, I enjoyed doing abstract art, I didn’t really understand what I was doing, but I allowed my mind to flow and relax. It helps me focus. But from continuously making art pieces, I was quickly able to increase my skill and be apart of the art show provided to me by my school. I work on graphic art and I have five paintings I am currently 19 years old working towards a career and education in art.

Has it been a smooth road?
Struggles are apart of the game, plus I’m still early. I can say that I have seen ups and downs in the art world. Sometimes it’s all about you and you’re how emotions are what’s going in life and anything really, so it’s all about completion. To you of course whatever is done for you it may take forever for you to finish, but it can be finished. Basically building a portfolio.

We’d love to hear more about your art.
I want to do a lot. I think that’s also a part of the struggle, but I really want to paint and have many paintings. I want to dabble in other forms of art but it’s probably better if I work on each craft at a time. What sets me apart is I’m a self-taught artist. I’ve had a couple classes along the way, but everything I done came from me. Also building a small fan base and networking and continuing to learn along the way.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Definitely being in some art galleries and doing other forms of it like making clothes and beats or whatever I want to do to continue to challenge myself.
