Calvin, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was working with a fellow friend (Deshi “Dex” Baker and he put me on to everything about starting a brand. I was first working under him with his brand until he encouraged me to start my brand. I met him in school walking and he asked was I into fashion and that he lived close to the school and I did too. The rest was really history.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has been very bumpy but I am maintaining. I’m now a college student and my goal is to manage both my clothing line and my degree. I am working towards getting my business licensed.

My business “Levity of Life” is a streetwear brand really focusing on fashion statements and expressing yourself through fashion. I am most known for my amazing altering skills when it comes to sizing and styling people and bringing ideas to life. I am different from others because my brand has meaning behind it, which is to live life joyfully and peacefully. I make clothing by hand and put time and effort into everything I do.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t do anything differently. I’m just moving forward and not dwelling on the past.
