Meet Cameron Nolan of Cameron Markell in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Nolan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cameron. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began exploring content creation my senior year of high school when I would vlog my day to day life in an attempt to immortalize my memories with my closest friends. I would carry around my camera just shooting whatever mundane event we did that day and try my best to make the final video seem like art. Little did I know, being in front of and behind the camera would quickly become passions for me.

Over the course of four years, I turned my high school hobby into his first business. My diverse set of talents have allowed me to shoot commercials for companies, host and emcee events around Atlanta, film and edit music videos for artists, and even do voice overs after one of my viral Twitter videos got attention from Allstate.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has been far from smooth. Starting a business when you are young is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, I have time on my hands and room to “mess up” with no real penalty, on the other hand, gaining the initial capital and exposure is an uphill battle. I am known for my social media presence and, now I am moving into a space where I am trying to convert my followers into dollars. I have gone viral on Twitter several times, but getting 800,000 views on a Twitter video does not gain you any income. My generation knows me as the “boy from Twitter with the deep voice,” but I am far more than that. I am a content creator. Breaking 6,000 followers on Twitter was easy, but generating my first thousand subscribers on YouTube has been a constant struggle. It is exhausting when you put 48 solid hours in total production of a video and then the final product receives less than a hundred views. My obstacles come primarily from my own personal critiques if my work does not perform as I would anticipate. Yet, I know that I must be steadfast in getting the success that I want to see for myself. I keep pushing out content just knowing that one day in the near future, my business will be able to catapult into prosperity.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My name is my brand. The beautiful thing in that is that this business will last a lifetime. I am a storyteller with an eye for aesthetics. The content that I create has no boundaries, anything dealing with a camera is fair game for me. Clients can request content that ranges from edgy music videos to professional commercials to brand/rebrand their company. Anyone who does work with me receives more than just a video or voice over, they receive perspective. I take pride in knowing that the ceiling on my capabilities is far from being met. I am a perfectionist, and everything that goes into the final product is vital. That is why I take so much pride in my work – I guarantee that my clients receive my best 100% of the time.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Honestly, I expect a large shift in the upcoming years. With every video I curate, every project I invest my time into, I get exponentially better every time. I am a student of the game and as I learn more in the industry and how to better network and brand myself, my business grows. Securing my first commercial in 2019 was huge for me and something that I did not know that I was capable of doing. But, I must continue to grow. My greatest achievement is my next achievement. Who knows, maybe in a couple of months post this interview, I will be filming or acting in some company’s commercial, music video, or God knows what.
