Meet Candice Clark of Southern Flex Mobile Fitness in Gwinett County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Clark.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My passion for fitness began at a very young age. At the age of five, my mother introduced me to sports. I continued to play softball, basketball, and soccer all through grade school. Following high school, I played Division II Basketball for Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA.

After college, I enlisted in the Marine Corps. In the Marine Corps, I continued to play sports. I was a member of the All-Marine & All- Armed Forces Softball Teams. I was selected as the 2014 Marine Corps Female Athlete of the year. During my enlistment, I became certified as a HITT (High-Intensity Tactical Training) Instructor/Combat Fitness Instructor. That is when I found my passion and purpose. I started training a couple of women on Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany in the gym and I absolutely loved it. I knew then that I wanted to be a personal trainer and coach people in fitness and health for the rest of my life. After I completed my four years of duty, that is exactly what I did.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Although I had a lot of experience in sports and fitness, I didn’t have any experience in Business and Sales. I am selling packages, booking clients, personal training clients, conducting boot camps, billing clients, advertising & marketing and so many more billets. I always look back and say to myself what was I thinking? I could’ve made this easier on myself and personal trained at a gym. I always follow that thought up with, actually I couldn’t, because that wasn’t my vision for personal training and the people I wanted to impact. I wanted to combat any excuses people may have about not taking care of their physical health. Southern Flex Mobile Fitness is NO EXCUSES.
