Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Riley Campbell.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I got my start in commercial real estate in 2009, joining a new-to-market office as their marketing lead, while putting myself through school [Savannah College of Art and Design]. From 2009 to 2014, I grew from intern to national design lead. Those years were both fast-paced, formative and, in large part, the backbone of Nimble.’s story. Building a team, supporting new market growth, directing a platform, and always encouraged to push the boundaries of marketing and design; I learned daily and began to find my niche in multidisciplinary design. Passionate to pursue a strengthened connection between brand and place for dedicated clientele who were willing to take risk and trust in the creative process, Nimble. was born.
Since Nimble.’s formation, I’ve directed the launch of over 125 new brands, led nearly 100 property repositioning campaigns, and traveled 85,000+ miles and counting to bring innovation and consistent brand exposure to projects in 21 US markets and internationally.
We’re approaching our fifth year and I’m confident the best is yet to come.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I spent my 20’s pushing myself to my absolute breaking point and am rebuilding my early 30’s headstrong on living my version of success – success built on strong relationships and a perpetual ‘how can I help’ mindset. An enneagram 3 to a tee, I’ve always thrived in environments where I can find holes, provide value, and continually reset benchmarks. This has driven Nimble.’s ability to contribute max. value and undeterred client service, but our growth hasn’t been without growing pains. Finding talent that supports an ‘others before self’ mindset and is willing to put in the work to build and grow is challenging. I’m incredibly empowered and beamingly proud of our mighty team – pushing themselves and each other daily.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Nimble. Design Co. – what should we know?
Nimble. is a multi-disciplinary design studio Dedicated to Branding for the Built Environment. We direct full-service campaigns for clients in the commercial real estate and hospitality industries across all facets of brand development, digital marketing, signage design and interiors consulting.
Nimble.’s core differentiator is our big vision and driven execution across design disciplines. We’re relentless idea’rs, persistent students and ever-believers (and educators) in a strengthened intersection between brand and place. We believe connected design experience highly impacts user behavior, brand awareness, and brand memory and we work hard to focus and challenge all of the details.
I lead the people, practice and progress of Nimble. pushing our team and our clients to think big and always pursue what’s next. In addition, I spearheads our interiors consulting practice — working directly with clients and project teams to orchestrate branded environments that engage and excite.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Supporters, advocates, teammates, the encouraging listening ear in times of stress, the door holder who goes out of their way to help when they see you lugging far too many interior samples across a parking lot when late to a design review meeting – so many people are necessary to make small business happen.
