Today we’d like to introduce you to Capo Bang.
Capo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I was growing up, I stayed in trouble, trouble at school led to trouble at home… so I just started writing. I wrote about everything around me especially my brother who got locked up when I was n 6th grade. Eventually, I recorded my first song in high school shot a video that got me some recognition and I never looked back. People always praised the bars and metaphors so it was something to hold on to. Now, as I travel all over the U.S. promoting the man and brand I am today, it feels good knowing where it all came from. I created a lane and drove fast in it, building myself around consistency and hard work. I thank God for the lessons I’ve learned through this journey knowing there is many more to come. I plan to continue to be the person I am throughout my career and giving back to the community and people who don’t have the blessings I was given will remain routine for me. I thank God for having the vision to see that.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Never smooth, I’ve been sold the dream so many times I had to learn my way the hard way. If I can actually stay out of trouble, then it’s the obstacle of knowing who actually has your best interests when it comes to the business. Never met my dad and my mom did more than the best she could raising two fatherless boys.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Noisy neighbors is a very organic production company. We are the wave, a motto we don’t take lightly as our goal is to continue to grow everyday just like the industry does. The sound quality and beat production/selection has always separated us from other competitors. Taking that extra minute to find that “umph” and keeping the fans interested will always be enough to keep us going. With the support of such labels as Major Shui and Hollywood, Noisy neighbors is the place to come to for a unique sound.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very athletic. I loved playing sports but a foul mouth amongst other things kept me from playing organized team sports in school. I left home in 10th grade and made a way for myself but still tried to keep my hands in music as best I can. I knew I had a passion for it so I did my best to not lose focus on that.
