Hi Carl, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?

My passion for clothing design began as a humble venture in high school. Back then, I started by selling handcrafted shirts straight out of my book bag. It was a small operation, but the enthusiasm and desire to create something unique drove me. I would spend hours sketching designs, carefully selecting fabrics, and stitching each piece.

In those early days, every sale was not just a transaction but a validation of my creativity and hard work. I knew I wanted to turn this passion into something bigger, something that would resonate with a broader audience. I dreamed of dressing people in designs that spoke to their individuality and made them feel confident and stylish.

As fate would have it, a turning point came when a few local musicians and artists noticed my work. They admired the authenticity and creativity in my designs, and soon enough, some high-profile rappers started wearing my shirts. The exposure was invaluable and gave my brand, then in its infancy, a significant boost.

Through hard work and perseverance, I managed to grow my small venture into a full-fledged clothing brand, which I named “Fly Familia.” The name embodied my aspiration: to create clothing that was ethereal and beyond the ordinary.

The journey was far from easy. I faced numerous challenges, from struggles to managing production and navigating the competitive fashion market. However, my belief in my vision and the incredible support from my team kept me going. We began showcasing our collections at local fashion events and collaborating with talented individuals in the industry, further propelling our growth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Looking back at the journey of starting my clothing brand from scratch, it wasn’t a smooth road. It was filled with financial constraints, fierce market competition, production challenges, and the struggle to build a strong team. However, these hurdles became valuable lessons, pushing me to innovate and improve. Despite the difficulties, overcoming them defined the journey and made the successes incredibly rewarding. Each challenge served as a stepping stone, propelling my brand forward and reinforcing my determination to create something meaningful in the fashion industry.
