Hi Carl, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As the Founder and CEO of C & C Wright Investments, LLC, I have a diverse background that serves as the foundation for my creative endeavors. Born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in Decatur, Georgia, I discovered my passion for writing at a young age, around seven years old. While my initial artistic outlet was drawing, my talent was recognized early on when one of my drawings was featured in the Sesame Street Magazine in 1986, representing the State of Georgia among national winners.
With a wide range of interests that include sports, language arts, and music, I delved into various pursuits before focusing on writing as my primary creative outlet. Today, I consider myself a perpetual child at heart, constantly seeking new adventures and experiences. One of my most cherished literary accomplishments is “Collin’s Sweet Adventure,” a fictional tale inspired by my son, Collin, and his thrilling escapades with friends.
Through my writings, under the pseudonym and brand, Carl Is Always Wrighting, I aim to capture the joy, wonder, and imagination of childhood while inspiring readers of all ages to embrace the magic of storytelling and creativity. In each project, I strive to infuse my unique perspective and experiences to create engaging and memorable narratives that resonate with audiences.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a self-published author, I have encountered various challenges along the way. Limited resources, lack of visibility, stigma, distribution challenges, and time management have all been hurdles that I have had to navigate on my journey to success in the literary world. Despite these obstacles, I am determined to overcome them and find ways to thrive in the competitive publishing industry.

As a small business on the rise, we’ve come to understand the importance of taking calculated risks to foster growth and innovation. For instance, when we introduced our literary brand, Carl Is Always Wrighting, we took a calculated risk by investing in a distinct and innovative product line targeted at a specific niche market. This decision demanded us to think creatively and adapt to shifting circumstances to succeed.
An important risk we undertook was diversifying our product offerings to include interactive coloring and activity books. Despite being a departure from our usual focus on children’s literature, we recognized a rising demand for these products. By investing in new designs and publishing techniques, we took a leap of faith that ultimately paid off. The positive response from our customers and the access to a new market validated our decision.
Furthermore, we embraced a significant opportunity by collaborating with a talented partner, Real Estate Entrepreneur, Jessica Myers, to craft a 90-Day Gratitude Journal. This partnership enabled us to work closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing fresh perspectives and opening doors to exciting possibilities. Our joint efforts led to the creation of the “Keys to Success Edition” of the About Me Journal Series.
Although I don’t consider myself a traditional risk-taker, I acknowledge the value of calculated risks in advancing and excelling in my writing pursuits. Each project and collaboration offers avenues for personal and professional growth. By approaching risks with curiosity, openness, and optimism, I have discovered new dimensions of my craft, refined my skills, and established meaningful connections with fellow creatives.
In essence, my stance on risk-taking is rooted in the belief that challenges and uncertainties are essential for progress and creativity. Embracing risks with a spirit of adventure and a willingness to explore new possibilities propels me forward in my writing endeavors with zeal and a commitment to innovation.
