Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Cladd.
Hi Carla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, where do start, let’s see. I started my photography when I was taking photos on my iPhone4! I was having a photo session and all! But of course, I soon bought my first camera which was a low-brand canon and the journey started to grow from there. I’ve been taking photos for like ten years but six years professionally, it’s been some ups and downs but I wouldn’t change it for the world. My main goal is to be a high fashion photographer for some of the top magazine companies and I know I will be up there one day. I always remember my brand “Keep Creating, Keep Inspiring” to keep me going at times as well. All around, I’m an artist, my camera is my paintbrush and the clients are my canvases.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road! There were times where I wanted to give up because my clientele wasn’t coming in or where I would lose inspiration because it felt like my work wasn’t good enough! But through all of that, I didn’t give up I push through to become better and still perfecting my craft.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer, I specialize in portraits and creative photography. I’m known for the way I make each skin tone pop! Also, I’m known for my creative work as well. I’m most proud of me not giving up on photography when I lost my inspiration at one point. Also, how far my work as come from starting in 2010. What set me apart from others will be my style and the way I captured my client’s photos.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The way I communicate with my clients during the photoshoots I always make them feel at ease and have fun during the shoot! Also, being very understanding on how they want their photo session to go or how they would like their photos edit.
