Today, we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn Stephen . Carolyn was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Shana Gourdine.
Carolyn , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
There are many experiences in my life that have contributed to the totality of my life as it presently. I currently serve as a clinical therapist and pre COVID I worked as a community therapist going into the community 60-70 hours per week. I was making great money but experience high levels of fatigue and eventually was diagnosed with an illness that was affecting my body to the point of not being able to walk. During that year I lost my father, I lost many material things, I lost my spiritual son and a relationship. One night during a very dark time I decided to say yes to God about a book project. Having no idea what I was doing or even where to start, I said yes. During this time of loss, pain and isolation it came to me that there were many women of color who were experiencing the same thing and felt unsupported. So out of my pain and my willingness to say yes, my first book was born and several thereafter for which I experienced being a best seller. I started a television on demand network and many other things as a result of allowing my pain to become my purpose.
