Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn Walters.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Decatur, GA. I attended Towers High School. I graduated with a Spanish major and education minor from Florida A&M University. I began teaching Spanish to preschool students at Greenforest Baptist Church ELC. And after a year, I started teaching Exploratory Spanish and Spanish I at Miller Grove Middle School. Having the opportunity to work with such a wide age range of students, I realized how important it was to introduce a language at a young age. I was also able to recognize what teaching methods work best when working with varies age groups and learning styles. This encourages me to start my own Spanish education company, Let’s Talk Spanish.
Let’s Talk Spanish is a premier educational company that specializes in teaching Spanish. Since 2006, we have provided our service to private schools, daycares, aftercare programs, summer camps and other youth programs throughout the metro Atlanta Area. Our students range from preschool through 12th grade. We also offer private one-on-one and group sessions for children and adults.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. My company definitely felt the effects of the 2008 recession, as well as Covid 19. But by the grace of God and the great relationships we have built with most of our schools, we were able to make some adjustments and continue our services.
