I started my journey in communications and storytelling out of a genuine love for the “underdog”. I always wanted to help visionaries with their brand clarity, visibility, positioning and influence. Early on, I realized I had a natural ability to connect the dots between a person’s purpose and how it shows up publicly, whether through messaging, media, events, or content. What began as informal support for friends, creatives, and small businesses eventually turned into consistent work in public relations, branding, and strategic communications.
Over the years, I honed my skills by working across multiple industries, supporting brands, organizations, and individuals with visibility, messaging, and audience engagement. As my experience grew, so did my clarity. I didn’t just want to help people get attention, I wanted to help them build alignment, credibility, and impact. That led to the creation of Purposely Public Agency, a faith-led, strategy-driven agency rooted in purpose, clarity, and intentional storytelling.
Today, I serve as an award-winning publicist, brand and community builder, partnering with founders, creators, and organizations to position their stories in ways that feel authentic and sustainable. My journey has been shaped by real life, resilience, single motherhood, faith, and community. Those experiences influence how I show up in my work and day to day life. Every part of my journey has reinforced my belief that visibility is most powerful when it’s purposeful, and that’s the foundation of everything I do today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being completely transparent it hasn’t been a smooth road and honestly, I don’t believe it’s meant to be. I believe that when God gifts you with leadership and creativity it builds character.
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has been shaped by seasons of uncertainty, learning in real time, and rebuilding while still moving forward. One of the biggest challenges was navigating growth without a clear roadmap. Figuring out financial structures, boundaries, and internal processes while actively serving clients and managing real life at the same time isn’t always the smoothest process.
Last year was a bittersweet season. I was also navigating back and forth between Atlanta and my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio while I’m pursuing another level of higher education.
Balancing travel, coursework, motherhood, wellness and business responsibilities required a level of discipline and resilience that stretched me in new ways.
It wasn’t just about building a business, but about continuing to invest in my education and long-term vision while honoring my personal responsibilities.
I experienced moments of burnout, self-doubt, and financial pressure, especially in seasons where I was carrying everything on my own. Learning when to say no, when to pause, and when to pivot was not easy, but it was necessary.
Those challenges ultimately sharpened my clarity and strengthened my confidence. They taught me how to build with intention instead of urgency, how to protect my vision, and how to lead with both strategy and grace. Looking back, those obstacles were not setbacks, they were refining moments that shaped both the business and the leader I am today.

I rely heavily on platforms like Instagram, Threads, and Facebook to stay connected to what’s happening both globally and locally. These platforms help me track trends, understand cultural conversations, and identify where there is a real need—whether in business, community, or storytelling. They allow me to listen first, which is essential in the work I do.
I also use LinkedIn to connect with like-minded professionals within my industry. It has been a valuable space for relationship-building, collaboration, and staying engaged with thought leadership and opportunities that align with my work.
From a creative and operational standpoint, Canva is one of my go-to tools. It allows me to quickly bring ideas to life, create cohesive visual storytelling, and streamline content and brand assets for both my personal brand and agency. I also use Claude as a support tool for brainstorming, refining ideas, and expanding strategy-driven thinking, especially when developing long-form content, messaging, or frameworks.
Beyond apps and platforms, some of my most important resources are rooted in faith and community. Prayer, reading my bible, going to church, and Godly counsel, keeps me grounded, focused, and aligned in both life and business.
Also doing Internships and collaborations along my journey has also played a major role in my growth, providing hands-on experience, fresh perspective, and opportunities to learn alongside and from others.
Together, these tools and resources help me stay informed, connected, and purpose-driven, allowing me to show up fully and do my best both professionally and personally.
