Today we’d like to introduce you to Cecilia Yeboah.
Hi Cecilia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I founded The Right Resume in 2020 while I was in graduate school. This journey started out by assisting my family and friends with their resumes, cover letters, and overall career changes. It brought me a lot of joy when they let me know that the resume that I created for them helped them land their dream job or helped them step into a new career field. After helping different family members and friends navigate through their career changes, I decided that I wanted to help others as well. I then reached out to marketing professionals and site creators to get the marketing initiated. I was able to get marketing material to start promoting on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat as well. I started receiving emails from clients interested in revamping their resume and cover letter. There were many clients who had not updated their resume in over ten years or never had a resume to begin with. I also received many emails asking if I can help with interview preparation and their overall job search.
I then expanded my services to include interview preparation services, career development, and LinkedIn profile writing as well. I have now helped many clients with their transition into their new careers. I’m so grateful that I can assist different types of clients walking into their job interviews with their heads held high with confidence, knowing they have a great resume in hand to provide to their employer. The interview preparation and client coaching sessions are always exciting, especially when I get to see the development of newer clients. I’m excited for the expansion of The Right Resume as I love helping clients reach a new level within their careers. I also run an online boutique named Lavish Love Shop and an entertainment blog/podcast named Chat with Ci as well I’m so excited about seeing those ventures grow this year as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship has its ups and downs, but it has been a rewarding experience overall. I have come across some challenges during my journey such as utilizing the right marketing material to make sure that I’m reaching my target audience. I created a routine in which I was constantly marketing on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter and utilizing all the marketing tools I have access to. Social media helped a lot with promotion and brand awareness. I would create marketing materials and post them daily throughout all my social media platforms. I have also attended vendor fairs for my boutique, Lavish Love Shop. These vendor fairs allowed me to showcase the current clothing and accessories that I had on sale within my online shop. This gave me the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs as well.
I’m constantly trying to learn ways to gain more exposure and knowledge for my business. This can be done through networking and joining seminars with other entrepreneurs to understand how they run their businesses. It is very important to me to always ask questions and network with other entrepreneurs, especially those that have been in business longer than I have. The journey as a business owner has had its ups and downs, but there is a beauty in that which allows me to grow as an entrepreneur and learn more as a business owner. It has been an amazing journey, and I’m excited to see how far I will grow within the next five years. I currently still use social media and marketing materials to promote my business.

The Right Resume is a professional resume writing and career development company designed to tailor a client’s work experience and highlight recent duties and responsibilities. We are here to make sure clients have a better advantage when applying for their dream role. We offer resume writing, cover letter writing, interview preparation, career development, and LinkedIn profile writing. We offer coaching sessions to strengthen interview and salary negotiation skills as well. I’m happy to be able to help clients move into a career field that they are interested in and strengthen their communication skills during their interviews. I’m most proud of how far The Right Resume has come during these past three years and the number of clients that have positive feedback about the service The Right Resume provides. I’m always happy when a client states that they received a job offer with a better salary and benefits package than their prior position. We work with clients who have never had a resume before and also offer services to find jobs that align with the client’s goals and career fields.
How do you define success?
I truly believe success has many different meanings depending on whom you pose the question. Success to me means fulfilling the goals I have set for myself. The word also means being happy, blessed, self-sufficient, and financially stable. I’m a firm believer that nothing is handed to you; you must work extremely hard to get what you want. Success means to me walking within my blessings and fully taking full advantage of the gift God blessed me with, which is helping others. I believe success starts with our mindset and remaining strong within our beliefs to achieve our goals. I feel most successful when I’m living in my truth, remaining optimistic, and going after all the goals I have set for myself one by one. Everyone should have their different idea of what success means to them and live their life accordingly. Every day is a new day to chase our dreams, so I make sure I take full advantage of that opportunity on a daily basis to create a brighter future for myself.
