Cedric (AMUN-RA) Huff

Hi Cedric (AMUN-RA), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
HTP/HOTEP/PEACE! I give thANKHS for the 2nd opportunity. Born Cedric Huff, I’m known as Amun-Ra to the Hip-Hop world. I’m a God Emcee from Athens, Georgia, and one of the pioneers of Hip-Hop music in my city. I began emceeing at the age of 14, and by 1986 my music was already in rotation on the University of Georgia’s radio station (90.5 FM), making me one of the first local Hip-Hop artists ever played on Athens radio. Hip-Hop has never just been music to me—it has always been a spiritual science, a transmission of energy, rhythm, and Right Knowledge.

At 16, my consciousness shifted after reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X. That book awakened me to knowledge of self and solidified my mission: to create music that enlightens, uplifts, and awakens melanated people. By 21, I was introduced to the teachings of Dr. Malachi Z. York, which opened me to a higher level of esoteric, metaphysical, and cosmic understanding. Those teachings became the foundation of my art, philosophy, and life path.

In my late 20s, after an intense night of chanting and meditation, I fully aligned with the Amun-Ra/Re energy, activating what I now understand as my divine role. From that point forward, my music became a tool for DNA reactivation, consciousness elevation, and spiritual remembrance. I later received my Ancient Egyptian Order spiritual name Ba-Ayi-Amun,(Soul of the Divine Hidden One).

Musically, my journey spans decades. I connected early with Jermaine Dupri, who produced my first professional demo, and over the years I have opened for or shared stages with legends including Big Boi of OutKast, GhostFace Killah, Jay-Z, Run-DMC, James Brown, Public Enemy, Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, Carl Carlton, and more. I have collaborated with powerful voices such as Professor Griff, Big Rube, and members of the Wu-Tang Clan’s extended universe.

One of my most important creative alliances was with my soul brother and producer Djehwti Khepra Awsar El (Big Deal) of the Wu-Tang–affiliated group Harlem 6. Together we formed the duo Khem-Wu—standing for The Khemetic Higher Science & The Wisdom of the Universe. We created three major works together: The Sun Cycle, Tribal Core, and our final offering, Only Built For Nuwbian Linx.

Released in 2025, Only Built For Nuwbian Linx is the culmination of my life’s work. The album features Cappadonna of Wu-Tang Clan, along with Kinetic 9, Timbo King, and Solomon Childs of the Wu-Tang Killa Bees. Eight days after the album’s release, my soul brother Djehwti Awsar transitioned, sealing the project as both a sonic scripture and a sacred memorial.

Throughout my career, I have released a body of work that includes Music to Time Travel To, AUM, A Higher Vibration, Wake Up! The Time Is Now, Let There Be Light, The Sun Cycle, PEACE EP, Invincible Armour, Tribal Core, and Only Built For Nuwbian Linx. My standout tracks—such as “Errrbody Woke,” “The Select Few,” “Khem-Wu,” “Back to Pyramids,” “African Drums,” and “Save the Babies”—are coded with frequency, symbolism, and ancestral memory.

Beyond music, I am the founder of Pure Energy Transmissions, an edutainment platform through which I create films, music, and visual works designed to awaken consciousness. My mission is to serve as a God Emcee, transmitting Right Knowledge through rhythm, sound, and divine symbolism—using Hip-Hop as a tool to reprogram reality and overwrite Western distortion with Ma’at-based truth.

I don’t make music for trends.
I create pure light frequencies transmissions.
I am Amun-Ra(The Hidden Light)
and this is sound as sacred science.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. From the beginning, I chose truth over trends, and that meant resistance. Speaking Right Knowledge, African-centered truth, and metaphysical science in Hip-Hop put me outside the mainstream. I refused to compromise my message or my identity for industry approval, and that led to gatekeeping, missed opportunities, and long periods of being overlooked while others advanced by conforming.

There were also real-life and financial struggles—creating without resources, funding my own projects, and balancing family responsibilities with a spiritual calling. Walking a path of awakening can be isolating. Not everyone understands frequency shifts, and telling the truth often costs you relationships, comfort, and support. At times, the weight of the mission felt heavy, but quitting was never an option.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Hip-Hop artist, visionary, and cultural transmitter known as Amun-Ra, The Voice of the Source. What I do goes beyond making songs—I create sonic transmissions designed to awaken consciousness. I specialize in DNA Reactivation music, blending lyricism, rhythm, Ancient African spiritual science, metaphysics, and Ma’at-based principles into music that functions as both art and instruction. My work is rooted in frequency, symbolism, and ancestral memory, using Hip-Hop as a tool for education, elevation, and DNA reactivation.

I’m known for being one of the pioneers of Athens, Georgia Hip-Hop music, for my early presence on college radio in the 1980s, and for a body of work that has remained uncompromised across decades. I’m also recognized for my collaborations with powerful cultural voices—from Jermaine Dupri and Professor Griff to Big Rube and members of the Wu-Tang Clan. Albums like AUM, Let There Be Light, The Sun Cycle, Tribal Core, and Only Built For Nuwbian Linx represent the culmination of a lifelong mission to merge high-level lyricism with spiritual science and cultural truth.

What I’m most proud of is my integrity and consistency. I never diluted my message to chase trends or validation. I built my own lane, founded Pure Energy Transmissions LLC, and created a legacy that my family and future generations can stand on. What sets me apart is that I don’t perform from ego—I transmit from source. My music isn’t designed just to entertain; it’s meant to activate, restore, and remind people of who they truly are.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is truth, purpose, and legacy. Truth because without it, there is no real freedom, and my work is about restoring memory and Right Knowledge. Purpose because I know my life and music are aligned with a higher assignment, not just entertainment.

Legacy matters because I’m building beyond myself. I want to leave behind more than music—I want to leave guidance, inspiration, and something my children and future generations can stand on with pride.
