Gwendolynskitchen was birth out of remembrance of my late mother Sheila Gwendolyn Ash when I was a child I wasn’t on my best behavior and so mom would make me come into the kitchen and learn how to make food and then go down to our local church and feed the hungry to ensure two things, that I did not become homeless like them and to show me what life looks like on the other side!!!
So later on down the years I’ve cooked for all types of people and one day my mom said “to me son always remember never ever make someone uncomfortable and if their hungry feed them”, so I took that little big piece of information and placed it in my heart, after watching mom get sick and weak I would prepare meals for the sick and shut in and then as time went on mom journeyed on home with God and my light bulb went off and I said no need for sorrow for joy comes in the morning and I opened up Gwendolynskitchen and started cooking for queens and kings of the Gospel and Celebrity all over the world and even today I’m in the kitchen prepping and preparing for the next level for a client!! The question was posed how did I get to where I’m at today? I would have to respond by saying Grace and mercy went a long way with someone that life through away along time ago.
Has it been a smooth road?
In the beginning stages of building my brand it was ruff only because you have people who didn’t wanna invest and who just didn’t wanna take the chance in trying something new , but that didn’t stop me so I worked a secular job to save and make ends meet so that I could invest in my own brand with the help of my partner laMichael lofton we put out money and credit together and God did the rest.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gwendolynskitchen – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Gwendolynskitchen is a valet catering service for all walks and life of food, our slogan is “we cook with love” and that’s all the seasoning that you’ll ever need! We specialize in soul food cuisine as well as specialty food that one desires. We are most known for making the heart grow fonder once encounter our relationship through food. We are definitely most proud of all the many accomplishments that we have encountered in such a short time and also best known for my Famous Honey Glazed fried chicken!!!!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The things I like most about Atlanta is the diversity and the kind people that I’ve encountered here and the fact that it’s a lot of risk taken here and people who are upfront and mean what they say!!! The least I like about my city is the fact that it’s too many people and not enough space lol.
