Meet Chad Chambers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Chambers.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chad. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from a small town in South Carolina called Darlington. I grew up in a very musical family and singing in church was mandatory lol. I was the kid that knew every theme song and commercial on television and the radio. My dad used to ban me from watching television with him because I’d sing every commercial that came on. Those commercials and theme songs helped shape the songwriter I am today. I started teaching music and singing at an early age in church which later led to vocal producing, arranging, writing and touring with artists all across the globe.

I moved to Atlanta in 2015 for a job but was laid off later that year because of budgeting reasons. On my last day working, I received a call from a friend asking me if I could fill in for her on a production because she had to travel out of the country. I said yes without even knowing what the production was. I was out of work so what else did I have to do? When I arrived at the location the next day I was shocked to find out it was the set of the popular OWN television show Greenleaf. I ended up being a principal extra in 5 episodes of the 1st season and was bitten by the acting bug. Since then I’ve done national commercials, stage plays, magazine ads, web series, and feature films. Most recently I can be seen in the sequel Tales From The Hood 2 executive produced by Spike Lee on Netflix, Amazon and any digital movie outlet. My song “Survivor” was featured on this season of the BravoTV show The Real Housewives of Atlanta and will be release the first part of 2019.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has NOT been a smooth road but I’ve been tremendously blessed throughout my journey. Moving to a new city can be challenging. Combine that with trying to find an agent, industry contacts, and steady income the road can feel like it’s full of hills and potholes. As an actor, you learn how to deal with rejection early. You become very acquainted with the word NO! And while the “yes’s” are a lot less frequent they are worth every obstacle you’ve faced leading up to it.

One of the biggest challenges I face is working a full-time job sometimes 50 plus hours a week while pursuing acting and music full time. It doesn’t leave much time for sleep but when you’re as hungry to succeed as I am you learn to deal with the lack of sleep.

Spending time with family and friends has also been a challenge. I’m blessed to have an amazing and supportive family and some of the most understanding and supportive friends anyone could ask for. They believe in me even when I don’t believe in myself.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an Actor, Singer/Songwriter, and Producer. I specialize in TV/Film acting as well as stage acting. I write songs for television, film and artists as well as vocal produce/arrange. I am currently executive producing a web series and co-writing a feature film. I’ve worked with several grammy award winning artist but I hate name dropping so you’ll have to google it lol.

2018 was a good year for me. It’s hard to say what I’m most proud of because I’ve had some amazing wins. Landing a supporting role in a SAG film executive produced by Spike Lee, filmed a music video that will be released early 2019, executive produced and co-stared in a web series, performed in the sold-out Atlanta production of Black Nativity, acting in two shows on Netflix, have a song featured on BravoTV’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta, and filmed 3 national commercials. I guess I’m most proud of all of it.

2019 is already shaping up to be an exciting and busy year. I will be releasing new music, I have a music video coming out soon, I’m currently filming a TV series, writing a feature film, writing and executive producing a sitcom, producing and acting in a web series all while auditioning and working a full time job. Fun Times!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Building and nurturing relationships is essential to success. This business really is about who you know or who you’ve met and made an impression on. I also feel like integrity is super important. Be the kind of person you want others to be even when they don’t meet your expectations. I try to own my actions no matter the consequences. Be nice to people! People will remember how you made them feel.
