Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Lindsey.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born without two of my front teeth, so while growing up I became very conscious about my “ugly smile”.
I later had orthodontic treatment as a teenager which boosted my confidence tremendously. This drastic change in my life made me want to become an orthodontist so that I could provide this life changing experience to others.
After high school, I attended Georgia Tech for a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, then on to dental school in Augusta, GA, and finally completed my orthodontic residency at the University of Kentucky.
I am often asked how I got to orthodontics after completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. It definitely wasn’t the easiest route to my career, but the knowledge gained in engineering has helped me to understand the very complicated force system needed to control tooth movement.
I have been married to my beautiful wife, Shea for 20 years and we have two sons, Zeb and Corey. We also have two wonderful Scottish Terriers, Ruthie and Millie.
I am also a pilot, so in my downtime I love flying my Beechcraft Baron to explore new places with my family and friends.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been practicing orthodontics for 31 years so of course there have been many challenges along the way. However, I would not change anything and have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lindsey Orthodontics – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have practices in Locust Grove and Griffin, Georgia. The same team works in both offices and we specialize in providing the absolute greatest orthodontic experience for children and adults. Of course, we provide the most up to date technology with braces, but also with Invisalign and Invisalign Teen. Lindsey Orthodontics is a VIP Elite Invisalign Provider which reflects the experience in treating over 800 patients with Invisalign.
For 10 years we have provided service through our H2 Hummer “Brace-Bus”. This a free transportation service offered to our middle and high school patients where we pick them up at their school, bring them to their appointment, and return them promptly with a school excuse saving mom and dad from taking off time from work.
Our latest really cool addition is four state of the art iTero scanners. These scanners take images of the patient’s teeth from which a model is printed. This is used for all Invisalign treatment and retainers so that we never have to take those messy impressions and molds of the teeth anymore.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am most excited about the construction of our new office in Locust Grove which will open in early 2018. It is on Bill Gardner Parkway, right across from the Horse Town store and near Tanger Outlet Mall.
This location, just off I-75, will literally double our existing space, provide ample parking, and most importantly will be a premier facility to provide the ultimate in orthodontic care for our patients.
