Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Olayinka.
Charles, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Africans are one of the largest immigrants in the United States. We are highly educated, spiritual, hardworking. You name it. We also have a deep culture that helps uto sustain us as a strong force away from home. Part of our culture is laughing, eating and dancing. We leave the footprint of our culture everywhere we go on this face of the earth. Laff Theory is in the business of connecting people. We use our platform to capture memories. We also use our platform to strengthen our community here in the diaspora. Moreso, we use our platform to express gratitude for having and enjoying simple things in life, e.g., able to spend quality time with our loved one, e.g. spouse, family and friends. The first Laff Theory event was hosted here in Atlanta on August 1st, 2014. Since then, Laff Theory has hosted 8 Comedy Events, 2 Praise and Worship Events and 2 Laff Theory Kids event. The kids’ event is a charity event to give back to the less privileged kids. Laff Theory visits Nigeria and entertains the orphanage home and also give out gift certificate to students with best results. We have captured over 5,000 pictures from our guests. Also, we have video highlights of all our events on the website.
All our pictures are made available on our website. I humbly express my gratitude to Kunbos and Abisco Photography for capturing moments during all the Laff Theory Events. Our mission is to strengthen families and improve quality relationships. We act as a partner by allowing you to laugh and release built-up tensions. Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been challenging. Most people didn’t understand our concept or what Laff Theory is all about. But we can look back and say that we have added value to all our guests here. We have been hosting events going on for six years. Promoting the event was very hard. We couldn’t afford to go on the television or radio. We had to promote the event through word of mouth. Securing the location for our events can be sometime challenging due to the fact that Georgia is huge state.
Please tell us about Laff Theory Entertainment.
Laff theory is a platform for capturing memories. A wise man once said We don’t remember days, we remember moments. And that has been our bedrock and foundation. We tell stories of having a good time, we capture great memories for our guests at Laff Theory events.
We host comedy, music, for both adults and kids. We also have the Laff Theory foundation that focuses on the charity program for the kids. Laff Theory is about hosting the best comedians. Laff Theory is the first to host Alibaba, Peteru, Okey Bakassi on American Soil. Few others that we also hosted are Helen Paul, Wamilele, Seyi Brown, Jedi, MC PC, Femi Obama, Cee Y, etc. All our events are sold out. Alibaba’s event was the biggest. It produced over 600 guests. Laff Theory will be hosting the first time Ever Virtual LaffTheory on July 4th, 2020. Laff Theory is where christians and muslims and other religions come together to have a great time. We only host the best comedians and provide best music.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Oh yes, I think we have a lot of open-minded people here. Laff Theory events include all shades of color coming to have a good time. We also capture different demographics attending our events. Currently, we host events in Norcross. We hope to be able to move toward Atlanta and be more central. Moving to Atlanta will allow us to capture customers from the south, east, west and north.
I have an event coming up in the next few weeks. In the midst of civil unrest, I am hosting event to help strengthen our community. This is an event scheduled for July 4th. 2020. Please visit www.lafftheory.com
