Meet Chelsea Mack

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Mack.

Chelsea, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
About six years ago, I was introduced to thrifting and the thrill that was attached to it. Learning to thrift developed into me finding my own personal “vibe” or “style”. I was asked to start a separate page that allowed others to view my style interests & where I obtained my statement pieces. After a separate page, I was inspired to create my own fashion blog “Same Girl Different Slay”. The name of my blog came from the relatable feeling that one woman doesn’t have to be confined to just one look. One look doesn’t have to be forced and shared with church, work, date nights or girls night out and that is my hope and mission. Recently celebrating my 4th “Blogaversary”, I have accepted that my blog cannot just be about fashion. There are so many sides of me and so many lessons and advice that I have to share. I’m a firm believer that “overcoming what experience is to not only increase our faith but to inspire someone else”. That being said, my blog offers more than fashion trends or expertise. Between successful weightless, bouncing back from a failed engagement, being the daughter of a pastor, fighting depression and even beauty tips; I am here to simply motivate and inspire the next person. I was told to be the person that the younger version of yourself needed and that in itself is motivating. After a somewhat slow start, I have learned to become my own team. Until God blesses me with my own team, I have made it my business to learn the different sides of having a brand and getting it done by myself. I have also had the pleasure to work with multiple brands, including Kierra Sheard’s Eleven60. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for my brand and the positive connections that are attached to my future.

Has it been a smooth road?
I have always had an amazing support system. However, there was some support that I looked for and couldn’t find. My blog didn’t start off with a makeup artist and a photographer to wait on me “hand and foot”. But, this only motivated me to take time to learn and invest in myself. Between camera and lighting equipment, software, website fees and learning to do my own makeup and take my own pictures. I am glad that I took the time to become a “one-woman team” because this allowed me to appreciate the end result and also save on funds.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the MoMackStyles story. Tell us more about it.
MoMackStyles offers closet revamping services with the additional service to donate the tossed out items to those in need. Also, MoMackStyles has the multi-dimensional blog “Same Girl Different Slay”. The blog has useful help for everyone, in some form. I also work with various brands, my favorite being Eleven60 by Kierra Sheard.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Within the next 5-10 years, I would like to find a way to merge my brand with evolving young adults. As a woman, it is so hard to find your own voice in a world that wants you to be a duplicate of “what’s currently hot”. I also have hopes and plans to collaborate with larger brands and movements that support the curvy female, the modest female, the daring female, the self-care female.
