Meet Cheryl Graham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheryl Graham.

Cheryl, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Back in 2012, I was an overworked floor nurse. I was literally “sick and tired” from burning the candle at both ends and not taking care of myself. Back then, I thought it was selfish to take time off for myself when all I wanted to do was take care of others. I had it wrong and I found out the hard way. I’d been feeling run down, extremely fatigued, and felt as if I was always having an anxiety attack. I developed adult-onset cystic acne and the pustules were red and painful to the touch. My hair was coming out in clumps when I washed it. I found it difficult to get to sleep because my heart was beating in my throat. I’d wake up to a wet bed with my skin dripping with sweat. And to top it all off, when I picked up anything I had tremors in my hands. It was after a physical that I was told I had hyperthyroidism. My doctor sent me immediately to an endocrinologist who then placed me on thyroid medication.

Around the same time, I started to look more deeply into hyperthyroidism and I began a lifestyle change to see if that would help me gain some control. I’d become a “regular” at the office for bloodwork and as time went on, my labs showed an improvement; the MD was not impressed. He was puzzled. I wasn’t. I knew the changes I made contributed to this turnaround. It was a gut feeling. Although my labs were trending towards normal, the MD wasn’t sold on the lifestyle change; he told me “You have a brain tumor!” I held my ground in the belief that those changes I’d made contributed to my normalizing labs. The MRI was clean and I did not have a brain tumor. I stuck with what I was doing. Fast forward ten years later, my thyroid levels are normal. This trial in my life led me on this continued journey of health and wellness.  I currently have my own online health and wellness business providing toxic-free, vegan-certified, gluten-free personal care and nutritional products to people wishing to have a more positive mind, stronger body, and more beautiful skin. I want people to find their inner balance, energy, joy, and vitality by creating sustainable daily, WELLthy habits. We all deserve to feel good about ourselves, live out loud and in color, and have amazing lives!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not a smooth road at all. I had to really look deep into myself and make a choice regarding the steps for my health. Everyone wanted to decide for me. I was ridiculed for not following what the doctor wanted me to do and instead I decided to follow my gut. Deep down I felt the need to follow my heart and continue making those lifestyle changes I felt that were helping me become more healthy. It was important to me and every small change I made helped me realize I made the right decision for myself. Being able to do that helped guide me into the wellness field. Things just started making more sense. We’re all taught in our early years that “we are what we eat”, but I never really thought about it until this time. We are what we absorb was my new mindset and that shift in thought came and I began using cleaner, vegan-certified, gluten-free, toxic-free personal care products that helped me maintain my optimal health. I even started a business with those products and changed not only my life but many others as well. I found my niche!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an RN at Restore Hyperwellness specializing in preventative health/holistic care. I pride myself on being a “master curator/mixologist” administering a customized blend of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants via IV drips and/or intramuscular injections based on the client’s concerns.

I am passionate about wellness and helping people do more living. My goal is for you to feel your best so you can do more of what you love.

It’s important for my clients to have an experience while they’re with me. I’m not just placing an IV and giving nutrients, I want to ensure my clients feel they’re a part of the team guiding themselves on their health and wellness journey. I love that I establish a relationship with my clients and they feel like family. It’s the connection to them that sets me apart. I love people and they know I’m vested into making them feel amazing. I see myself in them. When their faces light up upon seeing me brings me joy.

My most memorable experience is from a client who said he experienced increased awareness, energy, and focus allowing him to be more present in his family’s life since he started doing the different modalities and taking care of himself.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I have learned that each day is a blessing and our health is TRULY our wealth. We need to take time out and add ourselves to the equation. Most of us keep going on about our days taking care of others and not ourselves. We are an important piece in the puzzle; without us we wouldn’t be able to do the things for others that we do. Self-care means so much more to me now than ever before!

I love to bring joy into people’s lives; putting a smile on someone’s face daily is my objective! Whether an uplifting word, a positive thought or affirmation, or even how I enter the room with energy…..I feel good and live life out loud and I want to share me and who I am with the world! There are too many cemeteries full of people who didn’t use their gifts; I don’t want to be one of them.
