Meet Cheyenne Brown of Chey Tv

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheyenne Brown.

Cheyenne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up playing sports and once I got to college, I made the decision to focus on my academics. I did not want to let go of sports, so I decided to study Sports Journalism. I initially wanted to write, but I soon discovered my love for being on camera. At first, I was nervous and I would freeze when it was time to go on air, but eventually, it came naturally. Last summer, I had the chance to study abroad in Germany and I decided to start a channel just to document my experience. My friends persuaded me to continue my channel back in the states, so I did. My channel has helped me become more comfortable with creating my own content and being comfortable speaking on camera. I have taught myself how to use several editing applications just because I want to be as proficient as I can be. Although my career goal is to pursue sports, I use my channel to explore my other creative interests.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges in college was getting internships. The more no’s I got, the more I lost confidence in myself. I always had mini-internships and side jobs to keep me busy, but I never got the big positions as I wanted. But through my college journey, I learned that you can not base your success on how well others are doing and everything you deserve and fight for will come to you when it is time. The things you struggle the most for are the things you will be the most successful in.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Chey Tv – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My channel, Chey Tv, is just a creative platform for me to post lifestyle videos. I cover fun topics, do a lot of vlogging, and other fun things with my friends. I am most proud of me continuing the channel after a year. As time passes, I have seen the ‘support’ of my channel dwindle but you have to realize things like YouTube are tricky. If you make content to please others you won’t go far, you have to stay true and genuine to your goal and everything else will fall into place. Also, I have a project coming out really soon so stay tuned!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Yes, two. If you know me you know I can’t only have one job lol.. But yes, I am a design intern in the digital media department for a broadcasting network called C-SPAN and a lead communications & reporting intern with a Cal Ripken League team, the DC Grays.
