Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Dolandis
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Performing has been a part of my life since I was a kid. I started in dance and musical theatre, then got into doing commercials and on-camera work. In my teens I was really interested in singing and songwriting. All of these outlets helped to shape what turned into my career in the arts.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The last few years have been challenging for me and so many of the people I love. Health issues cropped up and I continue to work through them, taking the time I need to heal and regroup. This has prompted me to prioritize differently and reshape my career. The big question, “How do I want to spend my time?” has been a driving force for me these days. Making changes about where I invest my energy has been sobering and I’ve learned a lot. Grad school, intentional self care, and my family and friends have been grounding forces.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a voice actor and singer/songwriter. As of late I’m in grad school at Johns Hopkins University pursuing my MLA (Master of Liberal Arts). Being a multipassionate has helped me to create a career full of interesting experiences and remain a full-time freelancer. Staying open to possibility has been key to my career and personal development. Remembering I don’t have control of some things, and do have the power to change others, has also been an important lesson.
I’m also excited to share that Battle Scars, an EP I was supposed to release earlier this year, is out as of Dec. 23, 2024!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how diverse the Atlanta area is. It’s rich in culture and that can be found in the food, art, and fashion. Sometimes it takes a little digging but it’s there, even in the outskirts.
Being close to the ocean is something that means a lot to me and I wish we had easier access. The traffic is the standard answer and I understand why! But, with planning, it’s manageable.
