Meet Chlorey Holmes of The Homeowner’s Helper in College Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chlorey Holmes.

Chlorey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After moving into our home 2 years ago my husband and I were having so many problems with our home and it had become very frustrating, overwhelming and difficult to find a reliable contractor. It occurred to me that, if we were having this problem, then other homeowner’s in College Park must face the same challenge. I decided to create a business to address this need in our community by creating a one stop service to locate contractors who would return calls, show up on time and follow through with high-quality work.

I conceptualized the Homeowner’s Helper would not only be a referral source for busy homeowner’s but would also help contractors by serving as an outsourced sales and marketing force for their business.

I’ve made it to where I am today with the help of God, family and friends, hard work and dedication. I truly enjoy serving others in their time of need.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With no construction experience and being a newcomer to the community, the actual launch of my business was the hardest part.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Homeowner’s Helper story. Tell us more about the business.
WHAT WE DO FOR YOU
The Homeowner’s Helper makes your home improvement projects as convenient and hassle-free as possible – – all at NO COST TO YOU.

HOW WE DO IT
We eliminate the need for you to figure out who is legally qualified for your work and reliable enough for you to interview then we follow up each referral until the work is completed to your satisfaction.

The process is simple:
1. You make one contact with The Homeowner’s Helper by phone (404-474-8166), email or webform.
2. We match you with contractors we’ve vetted to be sure they have proper credentials for your particular job (license and insurance types) and earmarks of reliability (clean complaint histories, positive reviews, good references, long enough in business to establish financial stability).
3. While your project is underway, we follow up to facilitate communication, provide advice as you may need, and do all possible to ensure your complete satisfaction with the finished project.

HOW WE’RE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SERVICES
The Homeowner’s Helper is locally owned and operated so we know the contractors we are recommending and we very likely are familiar with your neighborhood.

The Homeowner’s Helper tailors our referral to your specific project, thereby ensuring we don’t waste your time with contractors who don’t have the license designation you need or expertise in the specialty areas your job entails.

The Homeowner’s Helper goes beyond mere matchmaking. We follow up as long as you’re working or considering working with any contractor we refer.

The Homeowner’s Helper is structured so that our business model does not undermine our objectivity. We take no membership fees from our contractors so we’re not tempted to add someone to the network just to get payment; we take no advertising fees so we have no incentive to move contractors who’d pay more to preferred positions on our list; and, we take no lead fees from contractors so there is no temptation to refer those whose credentials don’t fit your needs just to collect as many lead fees as possible. We get paid only by the contractor, and only when we’ve matched them with a homeowner who hires them.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
In anything you do your success or happiness will depend mostly on the level of commitment towards that work. You have to work hard to fulfill your dreams, to achieve your goals and it is after that when comes a supernatural force which some prefer to name as luck while others have named it God. So one has to play his/her part and then leave everything on the force.
