Meet Chris Mungin of Pulse 101.3

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Mungin

Hi Chris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Pulse 101.3 launched just three months ago as an internet radio station with one goal in mind: to be the heartbeat of the community. We wanted to create a space where music, culture, and real conversations could live side by side—unedited, unfiltered, and unapologetically local.

Born from a passion for storytelling and connection, Pulse 101.3 was built to reflect the voices and vibes of the community we serve. From day one, we’ve focused on uplifting local businesses, highlighting cultural moments, and giving a platform to voices that often go unheard. As an internet station, we’re not bound by traditional limits—our reach is global, but our roots are right here at home.

We’re proud to be more than just a station—we’re a movement, a mood, and a mirror of the culture that surrounds us.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any new venture, the road hasn’t always been smooth. We’ve faced our share of challenges—especially when it comes to finances, getting the right marketing tools in place, and navigating the licensing side of things. Starting an internet radio station from the ground up takes heart, hustle, and a whole lot of faith.

But through it all, we’ve stayed focused and committed to the vision. Every obstacle became an opportunity to grow, learn, and lean into our purpose. And honestly, God’s timing is always on time. Things came together exactly when they were supposed to. That’s what keeps us going—knowing we’re walking in alignment with something bigger than us.

We’ve been impressed with Pulse 101.3, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pulse 101.3 is more than just an internet radio station—we’re a cultural hub and a community connector. We specialize in original, engaging content that blends music, real talk, local news, and community spotlight segments. Whether it’s showcasing emerging voices, amplifying small businesses, or diving into conversations that matter, we’re here to keep our finger on the pulse of the people.

What sets us apart is our heart. We don’t just broadcast—we build relationships. Everything we do is rooted in authenticity, creativity, and a deep love for the culture. We’re proud to be known as the heartbeat of the community, and we take that seriously. From our unique on-air personalities to our community-driven programming, we’re creating a space that feels real, relevant, and refreshing.

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of the vibe we’ve cultivated—one that’s inclusive, forward-thinking, and full of purpose. Whether you’re tuning in for inspiration, entertainment, or connection, Pulse 101.3 is here to serve, uplift, and represent.

We want the community to know that Pulse 101.3 is a platform for the people. We offer advertising opportunities for small businesses, creative collaborations, and content that speaks directly to the culture. We’re just getting started—and we’d love for you to be part of the journey.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Absolutely. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned during the COVID-19 crisis is the importance of adaptability and staying connected—even when we’re physically apart. The pandemic reminded us just how vital community, communication, and creativity are, especially in uncertain times.

It showed us the power of digital spaces and how internet radio can be a lifeline—keeping people informed, uplifted, and engaged when traditional outlets fall short. It also taught us not to take time, opportunity, or connection for granted. From a business perspective, we learned how to operate with less, stay resourceful, and still make an impact.

Most importantly, it reminded us that purpose matters. When everything else slows down or shifts, having a mission rooted in community and culture is what keeps you going.
