Meet Chris Noles of Beyond Computer Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Noles.

Chris, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My father was an entrepreneur who had an accounting business, and he inspired me to pursue my dreams to start my own business as well. I grew up with computers and electronics at an early age in the early 1990’s, and as his clients began to use computer technology to run their business, they would call me for help – even though I was still in high school.

I realized early on that computers were going to be in demand, so I learned all I could about how companies could use technology to be more efficient. Thankfully, I learned from my father and some other business owners about business management and accounting principles. This helped me get beyond just understanding the technical knowledge, and it gave me insight into how technology could solve business problems.

I worked for an internet service provider and an IT support company prior to starting my first business in 2000. For nearly 2 decades, I have been blessed to provide Managed IT services, Business Technology Consulting and Cybersecurity solutions to all different kinds of businesses. Many of my clients have been with me for over 15 years now. I have worked with Law Firms, CPA Groups, Constructions Companies, Dentists, Churches and even elected officials.

I am blessed to have an amazing team of IT professionals who are passionate about helping clients focus on running their business, while we focus on keeping their business running. We go “beyond computer solutions” and offer far more than traditional computer repair.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This industry is constantly changing, and of course, that means we had to change many things to stay ahead of the curve in order to adapt and survive. Over the past 2 decades, we had to make many changes and deal with the unknown. We survived the Y2K bug. We had to change our business model from hourly IT repair to becoming a managed IT services company in order to help our clients be compliant with regulations and to be proactive. With “the cloud”, there are fewer business buying servers for us to sell or repair, so we have had to learn how to offer value-added training and consulting services in order to make up for that.

I also had to learn to learn a lot about building service agreements, and I had to learn to hire and trust other technicians to take care of my valued clients so I could focus on working on the business rather than spending so much time in it.

Please tell us about Beyond Computer Solutions.
After 20 years of working with technology and many different businesses, I am confident that there has never been a better time for small businesses than right now to outsource to our Managed IT services company. We have the best tools for IT solutions, and we offer total care to ensure that any business is secure, backed up, and performing at its best at a predictable monthly cost. We also have an amazing team who is ready to help remotely or on-site with any computer projects or issues.

We are passionate about helping our clients focus on running their business, while we focus on keeping their business running.

We are different from other IT companies because we understand that the people we are helping do not necessarily understand computer terms, and we speak to them at a level they can understand. Everyone who answers the phone local, and our clients get to know our people and our culture as if we are part of their business. We are not just a computer troubleshooting company – we are the trusted advisor for our clients.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I was in high school, I would get excused from class to help a teacher fix a computer problem. This happened almost every other day and was lucky that it was usually during Algebra class because I hated Algebra so much. I ended up with extra credits and an award. It was a good thing because I nearly failed Algebra, and I needed something to make up for it. You don’t have to be a math expert to be good with computers!
