Meet Christal Anderson of Christal Clear Skin Beauty & Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christal Anderson.

Hi Christal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m 2020, my daughter was diagnosed with eczema. I wanted to use all-natural products on her skin. Her doctors prescribed steroid creams and I just felt that was too much for daily use. I then conducted some research and learned how to make body butter. So that’s what I started using on my daughter. Once I started seeing progress, I became more interested in skincare. I debated on enrolling in school to become an esthetician because I was now a mom with minimal evening childcare and had already had my master’s degree in education. During the summer of 2021, I was unemployed and decided on enrolling in school. I enrolled in school and then received a job offer from a company that I applied to for months prior. I wasn’t sure how I was going to work full-time, attend school part-time while juggling parenthood. However, it all worked out. I graduated from esthetics school in October 2022 and became licensed in January of 2023!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey was not smooth. I faced various obstacles while in school. When I was enrolled, I was told that the program was mainly online and I would have to come to the actual facility once or twice a week. Well, that changed to coming on-site four days a week. There was a lack of communication, resources, and time to learn everything that was required for the state board.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
There are so many potential customers in my city but people tend to follow trends.
