Meet Christian, Justin, & Myron of The Atlanta Podcast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Andrews, Justin Wilson, and Myron Green.

Christian, Justin, and Myron, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
One day, we decided to put together a podcast where we sit down, enjoy local beer that we love, and openly and freely talk about the city that we love with no filter in hopes of allowing people to understand and be comfortable with people like us AND bringing awareness to issues that are important to us.

Has it been a smooth road?
None of us have a sound/audio background so, affordably establishing the perfect sound has been a struggle, to say the least. As well as identity theft (laughs) and alienation from bigger media brands.

What do you do? What do you specialize in?
We are just a comical news podcast. The podcast has been a big hobby of ours so it’s very important to us, and although it would be amazing, we’re not looking for profit. We just want to do our part in providing a window into our personalities for people who are not like us and spread awareness to local issues and news while still being our beer drinking, loudly vulgar selves.

Looking back, We’d have to say our most proud moments are when we receive feedback from people either delighted or made aware of things we discuss from Food Deserts with Doran Hickey & FRKO, to struggles of the black gay male community with Dwyane Williams, to overall social injustices with Fabian Williams.

We are about to launch a special item called “The Atlanta Podcast Lemon Pepper Doughnut” that you can get at the ATL staple, Sublime Doughnuts. Our idea handcrafted by the owner Kamal Grant. It’s lemony, it’s peppery, it has cream filling, it’s in the shape of an “A”, and it’s showered in Gold Flakes. Most importantly, we are not taking any of the profits. A portion of the profits will go towards “Bloom”, a nonprofit organization created by big time local artist and activist Fabian “Occasional Superstar” Williams with the goal to help underprivileged ATL communities.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The culture. Hands down. It’s so infectious. There’s something magical about this city. And it has been a major part in shaping and molding us into the people we are today.

Least? The traffic. F*** the traffic.
