Hi Christian , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is YS Menace and I’m a popular artist/rapper from New Orleans. I started doing music seriously about 2.5 years ago. I lost my home in New Orleans due to losing my job trying to pursue my music. One year ago, I moved to Atlanta the beginning of 2021 homeless and then begin to put in groundwork sleeping in my car constantly until I was able to afford an apartment. From there, everything started moving a little quickly meeting a lot of people who was willing to give me opportunity. Special s/o to Mr. Rugs, Flyty, Fishscvle, SCM James, Gen Johnson, Boomman and Carisha tha diva for some of the effective roles in this process. I’m booked mainly for interviews and shows also I dropped an ep called “adating to fame“ out now on all platforms and I have one of the hottest singles out called “steppa” that recently dropped. I came to Atlanta out of faith and prayer hoping to branch off further in my music to make a better lifestyle for my kids. My goal is also accomplished but everyday I still grind as if I don’t have a dollar.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The only obstacles I faced was not having anywhere to stay but my car. Not having anyone to lean on as a crunch, but in time I challenged myself to make a better living but grinding it out. But that was the roughest time thru the process.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do music and also what separate’s me from others is I’m a New Orleans artist that’s very creative with great work ethics and marketing, I can write songs in different genre from country, rock, r&b and rap. I’m proud of what I accomplished this far in my music career.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Hopefully charting in the hot 100, hopefully being able to put others in position and mainly being a top artist that influence other big artist rather they going thru a bad time in life.
