Christina, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Honestly, being a business owner always seemed like an unattainable dream. Since I was 19, my life has been dedicated to my son. I would work, go to school and take care of him with dreams of one day being able to show him the world. I work in the Healthcare field first as a Medical Assistant and now as a nurse (shout out to my LPNs!), working hard sometimes even up to three jobs, taking care of others. Last year I felt a little burned out and decided why not create a business where I could share with others and create more time to be with my son. So I took my love for great and affordable jewelry pieces and created my brand. I was honestly scared at first and almost didn’t go through with it.
One day I told a friend about my idea and she just bought an item on the spot. That was the push I needed to go forward. Along the way, I created a few lines for women, men, children, and my “Essential Hearts” collection that I designed for my healthcare professionals. My business launched in April 2020 and currently at over 300+ sales. I honestly could barely imagine ten sales when I started lol. The love I receive from customers is honestly overwhelming but each order reminds me of how just giving myself the chance to dream is important. Now my son is my first unofficial employee and we get to spend more time together while I get to teach him entrepreneurship and that to me is worth it all, honestly. I’m just honestly grateful for each and every order and excited for what’s to come for my company going forward. Eventually, I would love to give back to other single moms and help them dream again, guilt-free.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been easy. COVID definitely delayed my launch for my company. My supplies were delayed shipping wise and hours were cut drastically from my job, which made me had to cut back on funding my company to make sure my son was able to eat (feeding a teen is a lot lol). Also once I launched, there were moments that I second-guessed myself, had no orders or just didn’t know what to do next. It’s been a roller-coaster but definitely worth it.

Just the all-around integrity and care sets us apart from others… also the great shipping prices and times don’t seem to hurt either.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta! I know people tend to give it a bad rap for certain things,but honestly I met some great people and love that there is ALWAYS something to do! Nothing I dislike, really. Well maybe the traffic but what can we do right?
