Thanks for sharing your story with us Christina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Freshman year of high school, I always knew I wanted to move to Atlanta. Sophomore year of high school, I knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry!
After graduating from high school at 16 in 2014, I went on to beauty college. I started the Esthetics program at John Jay Beauty College in New Orleans. Being in school, I started to realize that I wanted to be an entrepreneur and own my own waxing company in the future. After graduating from beauty school in 2015 and getting my esthetic license, I started working as an esthetician, performing waxing services. I also started business school to get my degree in business and management. I wanted to learn how to open, manage and operate a successful business.
Six months after graduating with my degree in Business and Management, I made the big leap and moved to Atlanta at 21 years old to start my career as a beauty business owner in 2018. Although it took me almost two years after moving to Atlanta to actually start my business, October 2019, I finally said it’s time! I came here to start my own business, that is what I am going to do! With 4+ years under my belt as a professional esthetician and wax specialist, I knew I was great at what I did and I knew I could be very successful! I started taking clients inside of my home suite and loved it. I knew I had to work hard in order for me to make progress. I put my business skills to work and started marketing, creating social media ads to draw more attention and business.
As of today, my business has thrived the way I never imagined! After six months of starting Fuzzy Peach Wax and Sugar Bar, I went from servicing clients in my home suite to now servicing clients in my own amazing and professional waxing studio. I have serviced over 100 new clients in May alone and I could not be any happier with how far my business have grown! I am very passionate about my work, my career and business! I will continue to push forward to make sure I hit every goal and milestone to get where I want Fuzzy Peach Wax and Sugar Bar to be!
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been an easy road getting to where I am today as a small business! I started Fuzzy Peach Wax and Sugar Bar with only just the funds I had in my bank account. It’s very hard to start a new business without any major funds to help you; however, I made it my duty and goal to work as hard as I can to create a thriving business from the ground up. At times I would get severely stressed and wanted to give up. I knew I couldn’t give up because owning your own business is not just a walk in the park. It takes blood, sweat and tears!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fuzzy Peach Wax and Sugar Bar story. Tell us more about the business.
The Fuzzy Peach Wax and Sugar Bar specializes in full body waxing, sugaring and Vajacial treatments. We are known for our “15 minutes or less” Brazilian waxing and sugaring services. We are also really known for our amazing Vajacial treatments that helps treat and correct skin problems in the bikini area.
The most I am proud of as a beauty business is that I am able to really connect with my clients and help them see results! I base my company solely on customer service and giving my clients the best experience they want and deserve! What sets Fuzzy Peach Wax and Sugar Bar apart from others is that we provide a variety of different services that our clients can customize to be tailored made just for them. We work closely with all of our clients and educate them, to ensure that they are using the correct home-care regimen to upkeep results in between appointments.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I definitely see huge changes for The Fuzzy Peach Wax and Sugar Bar in the next 5-10 years. My short term goal is in the next five years. We will have a bigger and better building/storefront as well as our own full intimate skincare line that our clients can purchase to have a wonderful home-care regimen. Right now, we are in the process of launching our intimate skincare line called “Summer Organics.” We will be starting the line with our signature “Tea Tree & lemon zing” scrub that will help treat ingrown bumps, hyperpigmentation and scarring in the bikini area.
Later, we will introduce a variety of different products, such as more amazing scrubs and our signature ingrown and discoloration serum! In the next ten years, we will like to have more locations so that we can be able to service many different clients around Georgia.
