Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Walters.
Hi Christine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a resident of Wild Cane in St Ann Jamaica. I grew up with nine siblings and was faced with numerous challenges along the way. Despite the hardships, I was determined to break the generational curse and pursued higher education in 2016 However, my plans were disrupted in 2017 when I discovered I was pregnant with my son. I took a year off before returning to college in 2018, but financial constraints forced me to stop. That year proved to be especially difficult for me as I lost both parents. In the face of adversity, I turned to freelancing and built a successful business to support my family. Tragedy struck again in 2021 when my son’s father passed away in an accident. Nevertheless, I preserved and added a travel business to my streams of income in 2022.
Despite the numerous challenges I have faced, I have displayed remarkable resilience and determination. My unwaivering pursuit of a better life for myself and my family is an inspiration to us all. I wish to continue pursuing my dreams and overcome any obstacles that may come my way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
