Meet Chrisy Chris of CurvyCurlyChrisy and TheC3Brand in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrisy Chris.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally from Memphis, TN. I moved to Atlanta five years ago after being bored with my life as a single woman approaching 30 years old. Prior to moving to Atlanta, I had begun doing online brand promotions for small businesses on my Instagram @CurvyCurlyChrisy. As my platform grew so did I. From selfies in the bathroom to fashion photoshoots, runway fashion shows, and eventually celebrity event blogging. ATL grew me into a real Georgia Peach. As a sweeter side of me developed I began to enjoy my whole being a lot more. As I struggled with losing weight, I actually gained more confidence. I realized my body is mine, at any size or form and I’m grateful for being mobile and mentally able to enjoy it. Putting my college degrees to work played a big part in my development as well. Working in the social service field as a suicide and crisis worker, a mental health specialist, a homeless and supportive housing case manager, and a substance abuse addiction counselor made me realize how blessed I am to be of sound mind and able body despite worries of the world.

My platforms (Instagram and Facebook) continued to grow with the help of sponsored posts but I was starting to get bored with regular picture taking. I decided to do both: promote and enjoy life. I knew it would look different in the eyes of the world because I am full figured but I was ok with that. The world needed to see more women like me enjoying my life, my size. From swimming to outdoor activities, combined with tourist activities. My love for all birthed my brand, The C3 Brand.

I created and hosted its first event titled the “Curvy Campcation” in September 2018. The Curvy Campcation was created as a weekend-long retreat-style and body-positive extravaganza for men and women of all sizes and races. Held in the Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, it was a weekend to remember. From libations, cabin partying, heartfelt conversations, mountain activities, games, endless food, and comfortability to simple relaxation.

I decided to change the location of this year’s Curvy Campcation to make it more accessible for people worldwide at the people’s request. At the moment, the date and details are TBD.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not. But I still can’t complain.

People continuously bash me for being my size, wearing what I wear, and doing what I do, all because of my size.

But on the flip side of that, some people who actually like me use my pictures to scam, create fake pages, and build YouTube channels to actually monetize off the content I create.

Please tell us about CurvyCurlyChrisy and TheC3Brand.
I am most known for my Curvaceous Audacity. I do and wear things that are controversial.
Like bikinis and lingerie, that apparently, I’m not supposed to wear at this size. It’s funny because I actually forget I’m Plus Size/Full Figured sometimes. And I actually like it. I’m no longer bound by body dysmorphia.

Business-wise, I am still growing and learning. I’m learning exactly what I want and need to invest in more.

Like any other person, I’ve had my setbacks, but I continue to get back and enjoy even the smallest things in life.

That’s another reason I swim a lot. Swimming makes me feel like I’m on vacation. So, if I swim every week (as the weather permits), I am on vacation every week.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I do everything in good faith now and to the best of my ability.

Since we can’t take away the past, I focus more on what I can do now and going forward.

Love her and this post. Just the other day I saw a commercial with this young lady in it. She’s about to be introduced to the world on tv. She’s definitely an inspiration. I’ve been following her for years.
