Meet Chuck Hildreth of Paschal Construction and Project Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chuck Hildreth.

Hi Chuck, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Paschal Construction started in Hot Springs Arkansas by my late uncle John Paschal. He began this in the 1970s and began to allow me to work with him as I grew up. Throughout junior high, high school and college, he would allow me to work with him after school. This was never my chosen career, more just an opportunity to make some good money while working in what was kind of the family business. Fast forward to me after college and my stint in the US Navy, I found myself right back to where I began. I was working a corporate job and kept being drawn to handy work for friends and neighbors. Finally, there came a crossroads, Corporate America or entrepreneurship. My last job had run its course with me and I saw no future. So I began the journey full-time. At first, it was just me. Then me and my son (who was in college and had no desire for this as a future). Then I began to grow and bring on additional workers. Eventually, I would name my company after what was my late uncle’s company name and Here We Are!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning, I struggled for new customers. I could not prosper on just friends and family. But my quality, persistence and dedication gave me a great reputation word of mouth. But that was slow coming. Nevertheless, I was in it for the long road. In it to win at all costs. Over time, I kept getting calls and referrals. Plus all my old customers were calling me back. I got with a couple of property management companies and that gave me steady jobs. But we are talking about a 5-year span of continued grinding at a slow but steady pace. This definitely was not a get rich quick situation.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Paschal Construction began as home remodeling and repairs. We built our reputation on giving an older homes a refresh. Then we took on small additions and just focused on keeping homeowners happy with their current homes. You would be surprised what new paint, new carpet or tile can do to a home.

Eventually, we got calls from commercial clients. First something small with Sprint, then Progressive Realty and then came Fitzgerald Casino. Fitzgerald Casino put us on a whole new scope with our work. Finally came work with Wendy’s restaurants. We went from just painting homes to laying commercial roofing in less than ten years. Now we offer plumbing, roofing, electrical and hvac all under our umbrella. After mastering the construction part, we have grown into Project Management. So we can facilitate the logistics of your job from start to finish. This takes the headache from the customer. Tell us what you want from our company or others and we will work with the customer to achieve that goal.

Finally, we have created something new and groundbreaking to the industry. We now offer a “Quick Response Team”. This strike force can assess your job and be on location within 24 hours. This division of Paschal Construction is in the event of minor catastrophe. Minor emergencies that need resolving rather quickly. It has become a very worthy part of the company.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Oh my… This is where you just do not have enough space to give credit. I mean it all started with John Paschal for just taking me under his wing. I don’t even believe he knew how much influence he had on me then. My cousin Charles King along with my late cousin Dr. Fredda Carroll both urged me to name my company Paschal Construction. I was using another name in the beginning because, again, it was only handy work. Nothing to where we are today. Then there is my administrator Amanda Avery. She keeps the books and back office going. My financial advisor is Ms. Tasha Renae. She makes sure the money is right. I have since brought on my daughter Sydney who oversees the Wendy’s jobs. My very first accountant was my daughter Tayler. And as mentioned, the first helper was my son Drew. Now let me be clear, these are only A FEW of the people who helped or prayed me through. They have all been IMPACTFUL!
