Meet Ciera Johnson of Fit With Confidence in Northeast Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ciera Johnson.

Ciera, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in San Diego, California but grew up in Morrow, GA. I wasn’t always a slim, petite girl. As a child, my family would refer to my legs as “thunder thighs” because they were so big and my Mom nicknamed me “chunky munky” and “piglet” (which she still calls me to this day lol). High school was when I finally slimmed down, became more active, and gained more confidence within my body. I just knew my “chunky munky” days were over. That is until I went off to college and gained not only my freshman 15 but a whopping freshman 25! YIKES! That weight gain put me in a really sad, depressing, unmotivated state of mind. I was tired all of the time, my clothes stopped fitting comfortably, and I didn’t feel confident or attractive anymore. I would literally wear sweatpants, baggy t-shirts, and sweatshirts all the time to hide my figure. But I had this vision of myself being happy again, feeling confident and fit.

So I decided to take action! I started going to the gym, adjusted my eating habits, and ended up losing my first 15 pounds on my own! I started to regain my confidence back, have more energy, and have fun again! After maintaining that 15 pound weight loss for a couple of years, I ended up hiring a fitness coach to help me lose the rest of the weight, get a six pack, and transform my body even more, AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I DID. Fast forward seven years later, I’ve not only maintained my healthy lifestyle and fit body, but I am coaching other women on their health and fitness journey through my FitWithC Program, and showing them how to eat better, get more active, and transform their bodies so they can feel confident and happy in their own skin again! I started Fit With Confidence to help women create an overall healthy lifestyle, regain confidence, and love themselves fully. And the women in my program are doing just that!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting my Fit With Confidence coaching company, just like any new journey, was definitely a challenge. Entrepreneurship in itself is challenging. Not knowing exactly what to do or where to start. Not believing in yourself that you can really change the world. Not knowing if you would make enough money to survive that month. Those were all things I struggled with and still struggle with sometimes. But I keep my faith in God and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE coaching my ladies on their health and fitness journey. That’s what keeps me motivated through it all. It’s not always about the money. Yes the money is great, but knowing I am helping someone gain confidence again, get healthy and feel happy within themselves, is such a better reward in the end. So I do this for my ladies. For all the women out there who are struggling with self-confidence, motivation, and weight gain. I do this to help guide them because I know exactly what they’re going through. But I KNOW they can overcome it, because I did, and I want to show them how. So I will continue Ubering in the early mornings, waitressing on the weekends to make sure I have the resources needed to continue growing my business and help these women change their lives.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Fit With Confidence helps women create an overall healthy lifestyle, regain confidence, and love themselves fully. I coach women on their health and fitness journey by giving them everything they need to succeed; workouts tailored to their goals and their lifestyle, customized meal plans so they can learn exactly how to eat to reach their goals without feel deprived of the foods they love, and accountability and motivation along the way to keep them excited. I am very big on personal development and self-care. I help my ladies develop a better mindset, a stronger mindset so that they can make this a lifestyle change because there are NO quick fixes over here! And I say this all the time- I can give you workouts and meal plans all day, but if you aren’t in the right space mentally, then you’re not going to stick to the plan when challenges arise. So personal development is very important to me. I have my ladies check in with me every week so we can not only assess how they’re improving physically, but mentally as well, how they’re sleeping, how they’re feeling, their energy levels, etc., and making sure they’re doing some form of personal development each week. I am most proud of all the women who have gone through my program and have maintained their results. It’s such an amazing feeling when I follow up with them and they tell me they’re still losing weight, and/or still sticking to the plan!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a very shy, quiet little girl. I’m such an introvert to this day lol. I grew up dancing and actually studied dance in college. Fun fact, dance has always been a passion of mine, modern dance specifically. I have an older brother, we’re 14 months apart and like NIGHT and DAY. Complete opposites. I’ve always been a sweet, super optimistic, and down to earth girl. I get that from my Granny because she definitely set the example for me. I don’t remember much from my childhood, my memory isn’t the best (and my mom is probably shaking her head reading this because she’s always saying “you don’t remember anything” when she shares stories from the past and I have no idea what she’s talking about lol.
