Meet Clemesha Pruitt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clemesha Pruitt.

Clemesha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in a small to the eye but big to my heart city called Centreville, in the state of Illinois 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis. I was raised by my strong mother with my two older brothers after my dad passed away from suicide. Talent runs through my veins; it’s not something I learned how to do. I am an Artist consisting of singing, dancing, modeling and acting. Every since I was three years of age, I had this spark about myself and confidence in a three-year-old is rare. But that confidence got me to where I am today.

I went to my first casting call at the age of seven and was chosen top 5 out of 100 kids for a commercial but was not chosen because of my skin tone compared to the other kids. At that age, I learned how to love myself, no matter what. Fast forward to my age now, I have become a dominating woman. I have no fear of losing in the industry as I believe everything is already written and what’s for me will only be for me. My ambition to succeed started with how my mother raised me in such a high crime area, as my city is in the center of E. Saint Louis, IL. I received my degree in criminal justice and now I am following my dreams to be a star. I now live in ATL and my journey to the top has just begun. Overall my city will be put on the map! Respectfully.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road, but what comes easy in life when you’re trying to accomplish things. My childhood and teenage years were not bad compared to most but I have had my moments of facing obstacles. Relationship failures, friendship failures and disappointment from those you would think have your back. Those things were never meant to break me, though. I saw my mother overcome a lot with a person like that to look up too. I knew I could overcome anything. Have faith and trust in God is what she always reminds me to do. Prayer is powerful!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an artist! The reason I say this is because I am not focused on one goal! I have many talents and I have always said one of my talents will take me to the top. Miss Pruitt is my brand name because it is my name it is a symbol for my family as my father’s last name is Pruitt and he passed away before he could fulfill his dream as a rapper. Miss is just a respectful way to approach a woman who is not married. Miss Pruitt is what they call me! However, I do have a clothing brand that will be coming out very soon and details will be dropping soon about it. What I am most proud of is my will! My drive to want to be successful and don’t let the aspects of others and social media deter me from what I need to do to get things done. I am myself I am like no other and I don’t have the desire to be. Women in the industry rather it’s modeling, acting, or an Instagram model so many have fake bodies and I am not one of them! I love the way I am, I come with enough as it is.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
There is nothing I would do differently because every mile Stone I took to get this far was destined to happen. Like I said, everything is already written no matter how man ways we try to change things.
