Colleen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I come from a little town called Robbins, Illinois. Yet, great people like Dwayne Wade, are from Robbins. Starting from nothing to now has been a great journey. I relocated to Atlanta with my husband, son, and mother leaving behind a daughter and family members. The transition was difficult, but growth and determination was my focus. As a licensed Cosmetologist for almost 20 years, I still have a burning passion. Atlanta was definitely a transition. No clients, but on a mission, I started Bellagio Salon. The area Of East Cobb intrigued me. I loved the diversity! As a result, I started my journey pumping gas, looking up, and seeing a sign that read “Salon Suit for Rent! The rest was history. Aggressively, I started marketing, placing my mark on the area in January 2015. By mid-May, I had received the Marietta small business award. My salon is intimate, elegant, and professional. A place were clients get real results, and healthy hair being the primary focus. As a master Cosmetologist, I have found my passion to be a blissful inspirational profession. I’m filled with joy to do what I love. My clients range from age 20-65. Starting from scratch, I am proud to say 80% of my clientele is word of mouth. My reviews on style seat are over 500 Five stars with Google at 4.9 and yelp at five stars. I’m a walking testimony of what vision, purpose, and drive can do. Although Bellagio Salon is independently run, operated, and managed by myself, my success speaks volumes much like a full staff salon. Proud. A daily journey of success and gratitude. A definitive example of hard work and determination.
Has it been a smooth road?
Oh no! Relocating from Chicago in 2014 was an experience. Starting over is an understatement. My transition was difficult. Culture shock was the first obstacle. Then, building my unique brand. Lastly, juggling being a mother of two with my youngest being two at the time, a daughter out of state, a wife, and a new business owner was rigorous. The rewards out way the hardships. Definitely.

I’m a master cosmetologist. Specializing in natural hair, color, cuts, and certified keratin treatments. My business is set apart primarily by the one on one attention each client receives. All services are rendered privately. Meaning you have the salon and me alone for your visit. No hassle, no fuss, and no crowed noisy traffic. Solitude and serenity. A personalized experience. I believe in building relationships. Thus setting me apart from the cookie cutters, chain operations. I am proud to be an independent establishment with a success that speaks volumes in several areas of expertise. I am truly blessed to be gifted in my abilities to offer multiple highly skilled services that I consistently obtain professional training for.

Atlanta metro areas are no punk. Competition is steep. Yet, if you have focus, drive, and informative business savvy, it’s a win-win.
