Meet Corey Perkins of IndustryThursday in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Perkins.

Corey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My love for the arts and performance started in high school. I give credit to DeKalb School of the Arts in Atlanta for helping me discover my passion and start my journey to becoming the founder of IndustryThursday. IndustryThursday was founded in 2012 to assist the Atlanta community in reaching their goals through the entertainment industry and job market. IndustryThursday brings me so much joy and allows me to give back to my community.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I wish I could say it has been smooth, but that was not the case. Being raised in a single parent home, where children are stereotyped by the public, as not becoming anything productive to society; better yet counted completed out! But I am a living witness that with hard work you can accomplish goals! As a person, I appreciated the challenges that came in my life. It allowed me to learn my worth and grow as an individual on a personal and professional level. My daily quote to myself is this: “Challenges and struggles will come in this life journey, but how you deal with the challenges determine your ability to grow and be successful”.

IndustryThursday – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
IndustryThursday was designed to offer information and resources to people that are looking to get into the fashion and theatre industry, along with offering details on job opportunities in Atlanta. As the CEO/Founder of IndustryThursday, my primary goal is to give people a chance to be great in their dreams and desires here in Atlanta. When creating IndustryThursday, I wanted to continually provide the personalize engagement and connection with the followers/supporters along with offering giveaways as well. IndustryThursday stands on personally connecting with supporters through all social media outlets. I am proud that many people have reached out to me to say they have either got hired on a job or received a booking from a model/casting call posted on our social media platforms. I feel God has placed me on this earth to be a helper for others and assist in their career.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
As Dwayne Johnson states, “Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.” Being consistent in providing accurate information to individuals regarding model/casting calls and job opportunities in Atlanta allows for IndusryThursday to be successful. Being successful doesn’t always mean you are the wealthiest, but it means much more on how you fully connect, engaged, and inspire at least one person in your life. That is the priceless goal everyone should aim for daily.
