Meet Courtney Burgess of Modified Concierge in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Burgess.

Courtney, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started with a dream, a vision and some hard-core determination. Customizing vehicles has always been my passion. I remember as a kid, buying 2 model cars just to make 1, lol! As I grew older, my passion grew. I started customizing my own personal vehicles and that eventually led to customizing those of my friends. Fast forward a few years, 1 day I was having a conversation with 1 of my best friends and he was like “you should open a shop and do car-audio & window tint.” I wasn’t too fond of the idea at first because I had NO real experience in either of them. I’m a hands-on type of guy so I like to be a part of the build process. Then I thought about it and said ” What if I could offer pretty much everything to customize a vehicle?” I instantly became eager about the idea and started brainstorming, eventually coming up with a concept. It’s called “Modified Concierge.”

Has it been a smooth road?
I have to say, building MC was probably the most stressful point in my life. I was in the process of building my own business, and expecting my first kid. Finances were piling up and I was torn between continuing on with my new venture or throwing in the towel and going back to work for someone else to secure my family. Then one day, I just decided to start doing some reading on successful entrepreneurs and how they all got started and became successful. Some made it and some didn’t! What I gathered from my research was very key to my growth with MC. I learned that in order to be successful, you have to first be humble and disciplined. You’ll also be required to make some hard-core sacrifices along the way as well. This newly gathered info stuck with me and I thought on it every single day to the point where it eventually reshaped my people, places. And things which eventually paved the way for MC. I made it a priority to ONLY focus on my priorities, which where my family and MC. Everything else was exempt until I secured a solid foundation. Til this day, I continue to focus on it all, from work to family and somehow, it’s all coming together. It’s definitely not easy, but well worth it! #enduranceanddiscipline

Atlanta is a great place for young entrepreneurs! I’ve always felt that in order to be a successful in business, you must first situate your ideas in a major city with tremendous opportunity and I’ve found that to be right here in Atlanta. Here we have access to a wide variety of athletes and celebrities so its allowing us to gain tremendous exposure and propel the brand to the next level.
