Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Crosson.
Hi Courtney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well! After I left college, I started working in Huntsville as a make-up artist. At the time, one of my co-workers, now a friend, invited me to attend church with her since I was new to the city and I needed to experience God in a new way. By my third visit, I had joined and expressed my interest in joining the choir. not knowing that a few months later I would be asked to join the praise team.
Shortly after that, I started leading worship. Now, I have sung in church since I was 4, but not to this capacity, but I always knew God had plans to get the glory out of the gift He graciously gave me. And boom! 10 years later, here I am, singing, traveling, and sharing the gospel through song. I AM BLESSED!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
SMOOTH? Not at all. Any journey has bumps, detours, stops, turnarounds, etc. I haven’t just been on a road with SUCCESS, I’ve been on a road with Christ (Who actually is the success and reward!). Being a worship leader has had its challenges and still does! Because you are constantly growing as a person, you will always face some sort of opposition. But I’m thankful for this journey that is still continuing. It’s beautiful.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a worship leader and Psalmist. I travel and sing for Jesus, whether that be in the States, or internationally. I love to go to different places and share God’s love through song, meet people who are like-minded, and teach about worship. Traveling to all different places has ALWAYS been a love of mine. I have a special place in my heart for all different cultures of the World, so to see Jesus all over is INCREDIBLE.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Loving God’s people. You cannot do anything as the body of Christ if you do not love the body itself. You will end up hurting it. Keeping Jesus the focus is crucial!
