Meet Courtni DuPree of Birmingham, ATL, Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtni DuPree.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Becoming a mom and experiencing time out of work taught me how important it is to create multiple streams of income and build real freedom for myself and my family. My name is Courtni DuPree-Nix, and my entrepreneurial journey began back in Dallas, Texas, where I started cooking and preparing meals as a side hustle. That small idea grew into something bigger — I even had the opportunity to cook for a celebrity NBA player, which showed me how far my passion could take me. Since then, I’ve explored many creative paths, from publishing my first eBook to help others grow on social media, to creating children’s affirmation coloring books inspired by my daughters, Ahli and Nova. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s in Business Administration, and I’ve always had that natural drive to be my own boss. I’m currently in Real Estate School working toward being dual licensed in Texas and Alabama because I believe in having options, ownership, and a future built on purpose. My goal is to keep creating, inspiring, and showing other women — especially moms — that you can evolve, pivot, and still chase every dream meant for you.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced seasons where clients weren’t consistent, and I questioned if I was really walking in my purpose. I’ve battled postpartum depression while still trying to show up for my kids, chase my dreams, and stay focused on the bigger picture. Then came one of the hardest transitions — going through a marriage separation and having to leave Dallas to start over in my hometown, Birmingham, Alabama. Starting over wasn’t just about location; it was about rediscovering myself, rebuilding my confidence, and figuring out who I wanted to be as a woman and as an entrepreneur. Now, I’m in a season of planting new seeds — finding my entrepreneurial footing here in Birmingham and working to make my mark on the city that raised me. Through it all, I’ve learned that every setback really does set you up for something greater, and I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming through it all.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Right now, my work is a blend of education, creativity, and entrepreneurship — all rooted in purpose. I currently work as a Special Education Paraprofessional and Cheer Coach at i3 Academy High School, where I get to pour into students every day and help them reach their full potential. Outside of education, I’m a creative entrepreneur. I’ve built a lifestyle and personal brand where I share motivational and relatable content centered around motherhood, mindset, and growth. I’m also busy making content on.a regular basis sharing my favorite things and places. I’m most proud of the fact that everything I’ve built has come from a place of faith, resilience, and authenticity. I’ve never been afraid to try something new and that’s why I know I will be successful. What sets me apart is that I don’t box myself in. I believe women, especially moms, can be multi-passionate and successful in more than one lane. My work is all about showing others that you can evolve, pivot, and still create something meaningful no matter what season you’re in.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people don’t know that entrepreneurship for me started out of pure survival. Having kids and being out of work forced me to create multiple income streams. That pressure shaped the hustler in me. People see my strength now, but most don’t know I battled postpartum depression and rebuilt my life after moving back home due to a separation. My soft life is earned, not given.
