Craig, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been exploring the amplified sound of Mark-making i.e., drawing and writing as a viable artistic form and alternative method of communication. I have been involved in this practice for over 20 years.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have expanded my practice through working with language-trained chimpanzees and Biometric experiments with rocks and the difficult thing perhaps is finding an audience. Unfortunately, the larger audience is poised to expect lite entertainment when it comes to encountering art. I attribute this to the pervasive blurring of “corporate content” with art. This distortion certainly sets up a struggle. One of the positive things about pandemic shutdown is we may return to practicing at human scale rather than outsized and unsustainable spectacle.

I specialize in creating new forms and new vocabularies in art practice. My aim is to further de-materialize the art object via expanded uses of telepathy e.g., inter-species communication and tapping inter-ancestral communications via biometric outcomes in rocks. My hopes are to have an artist present in a gallery and telepathically communicate ideas and experiences to a sophisticated audience without any use of an object or tool.

I like the wealth of diversity. July and August are the things I like least.
