Today we’d like to introduce you to Craig & Paige Bailey.
Hi Craig & Paige, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started out as a home bakery. I, Craig, had a taste for cheesecake one day and told my wife, Paige, I didn’t want to go to Cheesecake Factory for it. She had a recipe from her Grandmother which she used and continues to use. After tasting the cheesecake, I immediately said we need to sell this. I got on social media and started advertising which took off faster than we had anticipated.
In the midst of selling desserts, we discussed opening a restaurant which has been a dream of mine (Craig) since I was a child. I had spent my entire career life since age 14 working in various restaurants and training under some exceptional chefs. We settled on getting a FoodTruck to start. Within a couple of months of opening, we were featured on shows like AtlantaEats TV for our quality and flavorful food. We’ve been pushing the boundaries ever since.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been an up and down situation. When you’re first starting out, there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that you have to complete to be a legitimate business which we didn’t know about. Even now there are things that we are learning daily that as a business owner are vital to your success. There were times that we felt like giving up because the money doesn’t match the effort. But we focused on doing the work God intended for us to be doing and things began to work themselves out.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Paiges Pastries?
Our dream is to build a brand of restaurants that embody the community we serve by elevating traditional meals with our unique style. While we started out as a home bakery, we have created separate restaurant businesses each with their own flare. Our business is built on a foundation of trusting God’s plan and God’s timing. What sets us apart is we aren’t afraid to share our love for Christ in all that we do. We challenge ourselves to be leaders and to help guide those who we employ to better stewards of their God-given talents.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most ppl may not know but before we started our business Paige was a teacher. They also may not know that we have 4 small kids who drive us crazy lol.
