So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am the mom of six amazing children, ranging in age from 6-26. Yes, biological children. I have actually been pregnant eight times. I had two heaven babies in between the 2 sets.
They are my greatest gifts and my desire to live a longer and healthier life for them has always been a huge contributing factor in all that I do.
My inspiration for becoming the owner of Atlanta’s premier raw vegan meal prep delivery business was actually initiated by two very dear friends. Tanya Stephenson, owner of Stretch Atl and Helena Paschal, premier event planner with Correlations LLC, event planning trainer and motivational speaker. These two powerhouse women motivated me.
Tanya, once my eating buddy went plant-based and had amazing results. Once I saw her, I immediately went plant-based myself. Helena was there as a supporter, friend, and even a customer of my beta meal plan, prep, and detox program.
I felt good to see people’s lives being changed, bodies being held and having major wins in their lives, simply from allowing us to be a part of their health and wellness journeys.
It wasn’t long before a positive HIV diagnosis had me feeling very thankful for the fact, that even though I must take the required medications to maintain my undetectable status, that I live a life where I am intentional about optimal health and am able to give that back to others.
We have had several cancer survivors, pre-diabetics and those looking for quick and healthy weight loss, achieve and maintain amazing results from utilizing our services.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road has not always been easy. We were first handed our success on a silver platter. We were a great team, it was a family business and we had 100% support of the people. Our customers ranged from the well known and awesome man himself Steve Harvey, to the GOATS in the vegan game, such as Tierra Burrell of Tierra Goes Green and one of the Queens Chef Ahki. We were on a roll. And then a year ago, I was diagnosed and that ish hit pretty damn hard.
After building a successful 6 figure business in just over a year, I fired my “staff’ and found it difficult to find my place in the world and life, let alone in my business. So, after attacks, effed up feedback and confusion up the *ss, I folded and shut it all down. I went into a state of depression that lasted well over 8 months and found it so hard to recover.
Until one day, I got a message from a comrade and friend to check on me.
It made a world of difference, and I then had the desire to make a comeback
So now, only about three months back in, I am struggling to build a new team, rebuild confidence and mend broken bridges.
But I am here and we have not given up. Our mission is even stronger today than ever. With so many trendy vegan spots popping up, we want to be able to be the voice in the wilderness. We are here to serve and help to heal and restore. The reception has been amazing and we have come too far to turn back now.
We are looking to secure a new location and have already started classes and will be offering a few recipe ebooks.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Crystal Shae RAW (Rebirth And Wellbeing) – what should we know?
We are Atlanta’s Premier Raw Vegan Meal Prep and Delivery Service. We offer an illustrious combination of ONLY fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts that we turn into gourmet raw comfort food.
Our fan faves include our pizza stuffed mushroom bites, our world-famous deviled tomatoes and now our classic lasagna.
All of our dishes are dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, soy-free and meat-free. We don’t use any meat substitutes.
And nothing is heated over 115 degrees so it maintains it’s nutrient density and is still as high in nutritional value as the raw fruits and vegetables.
Our dessert selection is unbelievable. Carrot cake, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and sweet potato pie, just to name a few.
We are most proud of the fact that although there are plenty of vegan chefs with culinary greatness. We are still the ONLY company in Atlanta that offers it as a daily delivery service. Straight to the door of your home or office.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I know that we have a gift. One of the things that we hear the most is that you can tell that the food is made with love. Energy is very important to us and we believe that it shows in the quality of what you eat. And people really can feel the love. We’ve heard it time and time again.
Even when we were going down and struggling to stay afloat, people said that they were continuing not just for the food, but for how it made them feel knowing that it was made with love.
