Meet Cynthia Robinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Robinson.

Hi Cynthia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Cynthia H Robinson. I was born, raised , and currently live in Columbus, GA, with my loving husband of 25 years, Steve. We are blessed to have five children and seven grandchildren. I am a minister, author, publisher, and songwriter.

For many of us, there are parts of our past that we hold on to even when we know it will be better to release the pain to God. The problem for many of us is not that we are unwilling to release the pain. I believe the real issue is that we do not know how to initiate the release.

In Releasing The Weight of My Past, I share my journey of how I released the baggage and the bondage from the pain and abuse I suffered as a child – and how I can help others who have a similar story.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road, but God’s mercy and His grace has helped me maneuver through the difficult stages in my life.

At the early age of five, I was molested by my godfather, someone that my mom trusted to take care of me. Keeping this horrible secret caused me to be bitter and angry with men, and at life.

Another struggle was that I wrestled with having dyslexia and not wanting anyone to know about it. I am grateful that I was able to graduate from high school, with the help of some wonderful teachers.

Also, not having my dad present in my life, made me question my identity and gave me daddy issues. Once I found my identity in Christ, I realized that with or without my natural father, I’m who I am because of Father God. I knew that if I struggled with that, others may have been struggling too, which made me write my last book, “Who’s Your Daddy?”

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Minister, Author, Publisher, and Song-Writer. I specialize in helping women to reach their greatest potential, by encouraging them and building them up.

Through my work as a minister, author, publisher and songwriter, I specialize in helping women to reach their most significant potential by encouraging them and building them up to know that they are valuable and have a God given purpose.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Firstly the crisis focused me to spend more time seeking God. It is very important for me to set a side quite time with Him, so I could come to know His wisdom, His knowledge to understand what to do during this time.

I needed to be present and in the moment. I had to learn that everything wasn’t about the hustle, but it was essential for me to take time out to rest.

The crisis also gave me more quality time to fervently pray for my family and friends.
