Today we’d like to introduce you to Dalyss Hamilton.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dalyss. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, I’ve always had an interest in modeling and high street fashion during middle and high school. I used to collect Nordstrom magazines just to cut out the different models and styles. Pinterest was my best friend! I was so fascinated with it. I decided to ATTEMPT to branch out and express MY style. It was hard in high school and home being the real me and comfortable. I also did not have the support from my family or even myself to pursue this career I REALLY wanted. But as soon as I graduated and experienced college for not even a year, I realized that was not for me and my heart was in modeling and fashion. I was able to be myself, love myself, and express myself throughout my clothes and pictures, I found my natural talent, my peace, and my own unique way of expressing my vibes all in one and that is taking pictures…and not just taking pictures, capturing moments that have meanings and of course a twist of Dalyss! I found myself very soon and I am happy with the decisions I’ve made. I also found the perfect support team who help encourage me to go harder. I can say I have progressed and learned so much now that I have taken modeling serious and still learning everyday to perfect my craft. I am blessed for all the wonderful opportunities I’ve received and I hope for more to come!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
At first, it was a very hard struggle. Honestly, it was hard seeing so many people trying to compete and get the same goals as you. There would be times where I would cry my eyes out and wonder WHY NOT ME?! I was always discouraging myself and talent…always wondering when will it be my time? But I had to learn how to get a different mindset and be patient. I learned patience and positivity. And with that, I practiced only negatives and positives so that I can be ready for the real fashion/model world.
Dalyss Hamilton – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As of right now, I do not own a business…just yet. As of right now, I am focusing on modeling and getting represented or signed by a top agency. I really want to pursue modeling both street and high end. That is my passion…from print to runway! I have been participating in local shows and shoots to gain experience as well
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is having a goal you always had and always wanted and finally reaching it. Success is being able to achieve whatever you put your mind to. It’s like the biggest reward to yourself or to anyone who is successful. A successful person has their head on straight regardless of the chaos around. Success is like the phrase, “Job well done.” Everyone should want to succeed in life because, in the end, it will feel so good and worth it.
