Meet Damien Daigle of Computers R Us in Kennesaw

Today we’d like to introduce you to Damien Daigle.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Computers R Us, located in Kennesaw, is family owned and operated and was born 3 years ago. Myself and my wife, Chrissie Thompson, began this company with the vision of changing how electronic device repair is viewed by the consumer. With a lot of hard work, she and I built Computers R Us from the ground up, we grew one repair at a time.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a very smooth road to where we are now: what you realize fairly quickly is there is always room for growth and learning. We have had several very stressful learning moments, but we stayed positive and thankful, and learned all we could through each situation. One major struggle was finding the funds to open our store front: we saved up the startup costs rather than obtaining a loan because all of the banks we spoke to about a business loan stated that we had to be in business for at least 2 years to qualify for a loan. That just made us work harder, and we are where we are now because of it!

Computers R Us – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Computers R Us is an electronic device repair shop. We repair smart phones, tablets, desktops, laptops, TVs: just about anything electronic! I have worked at service centers in and around Atlanta and between myself and our employee, Colin, we have over 20 years’ experience in this field. We are known for our extremely reasonable prices, impeccable client service and our cozy shop environment. Our shop is larger than most shops, so we have room for comfy couches, a rustic farm table set up with checkers, a kid coloring and reading area for the little ones and soft drinks for purchase. Additionally, we have carry many local products: raw honey, jams, jellies, crafts, artisan soaps and more! As a local small business, it is important to us to support other local small businesses. We are most proud of the reputation we have built: the majority of our business is brought in by word of mouth. Our clients recommend us to their family and friends and we are so very thankful for that. Also, we are pet friendly, we are partnered with Friends to The Forlorn located in Dallas to help them raise money for their organization, we have free Wi-Fi, phone cases, laptops and desktops for sale.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far was definitely the opening of our brick and mortar location. It took a lot of work, and with it just being Chrissie and I, it was a challenge, but we were up for the challenge and so thankful that we had the opportunity to open our store front, it has been amazing.
