Meet Damien Gaddis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Damien Gaddis.

Hi Damien, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my music career back in 2018. My friends use to rap over YouTube beats for fun while we would all hang out. I wanted to try and see what I could do also, so I started writing down bars and started grinding from there! For the first two years, I didn’t take my music as seriously as I should. I didn’t fully understand the bigger picture of the music industry until I started watching other rappers and how to move accordingly. In 2021, I put my full attention into music, and from there, it’s just been a grind! I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now without the support of my fans, my friends, and everyone else that’s contributed into this dream of mine!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There are a lot of problems that come with the music career. For one, People aren’t who you really think they are unfortunately. I’ve had to lose people close to me that I thought I’d never say goodbye too, but if you want to make it anywhere in life, then you have to get rid of the individuals that bring you down or hold you back. Money is also a big challenge for independent artists like myself. You have about 10 different things to pay for if you want to put out just one single. That could cost you anywhere from $500 to $5000, depending on how good you want your song to sound. You just have to stay dedicated to the craft and hope to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a rapper. In the short time, I’ve been making music, I’d like to say I’ve accomplished things I’d never believed was possible. For starters, I got to be featured in VoyageATL’’s Shoutout Atlanta magazine. Thank you guys for that again! I also got the privilege to make a song with one of my favorite artists, SSG Splurge. The Shark Bakery also gave me the chance to perform for their showcase for my first time performing, which I thought was a complete success. I think what sets me apart from others is simply the commitment and dedication I have for things. I’ve always been the type where if I set my mind on something, then I’m going to accomplish it, no matter the challenges! I know exactly what I want to do, and I strive to make that dream a reality.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you’re reading this, then do not think you can’t accomplish something in life. I never in a million years thought I’d be featured in a magazine, let alone twice! If you have a passion for something, then chase that dream with everything you got. Don’t let anyone stop you from fulfilling your full potential!
